Mauro Malavasi Lavabo Giant I would warn others not to use this site - after being referred to this company by bathstore, I ordered a replacement toilet seat and paid in full for it. I am still waiting for delivery almost 4 months later - with no response to e mails and telephone has now been cut off. Middlesex United Kingdom
*Consumer Comment: I believe these allegations to be true as I too am a victim of the exact same non-delivery of goods scam.

I was recommended to use Lavabo Giant by Bathstore who could no longer supply parts for the toilet I purchased from them a couple of years ago. I paid in full for the toilet seat order and was sent an e mail confirming the order by Mauro Malavasi - who was more than happy to give bank details for payment!
I am still waiting for the toilet seat over 4 months later and doubt I will ever see it. Mr Malavasi does not respond to e mails and there is no way of getting a phone number.
Companies House still has the company listed but I note there is a proposal to strike it off - I am considering getting a list of members and directors.
This is clearly a scam - I wonder if bathstore are aware?

I believe these allegations to be true as I too am a victim of the exact same non-delivery of goods scam.

I understand the position that Mb from Windsor is writing about. I too sent payment to Lavabo Giant, and again was asked for payment. This was October 2008, and no deliveries to date.
I sent e-mails, and got every excuse from 'suppliers being on factory shutdown' to 'we are not very good at responding to e-mails and we must endeavour to remedy this'... In fact I do not beleive that there was ever any attempt to deliver.
At one point, you could not get hold of Lavabo, as they only had a message and call back service, but if you were deemed as new business, you would get a response.. only to find that once they knew who you really were, the phone would go dead.
I even sent Mauro Malavasi links to these rip off reports... His answer to that was to inform me that he no longer intended to deliver my goods, and that the order was now cancelled.
He actually offered to re-imburse me for the goods, but that failed to happen too.
This comment can not be subject to a rebuttal of "False and Unfair allegations" as I have all the e-mails and evidence to prove this.
If indeed Luigi Soru is that concerned in protecting the image of 'Lavabo' he may well consider supplying my goods that Lavabo have been paid for...
If you feel that you cannot trace me as a client, don't worry about it, as I can freely forward all correspendence to suit.
In the meantime, I would back up Mb's claims for recommending that no-one uses Lavabo Giant, as to date I can find no change in customer service policy that might lead to goods being delivered. This is purely on the rebuttal that I have read.
I find it hard for a company to run into financial concern, when all payments are in full prior to delivery.
Honour my order and delivery, and I will gladly update my comments about your organisation.
If the 'complaints board' (as Luigi Soru is suggesting) wants the evidence about my claim, then I am only too happy to oblige.
Far from trying to damage you company, it might actually help you if you show remorse in trying to deal with existing problems and with a little sympathy to your clients.

False and Unfair Allegations
AUTHOR: Luigi Soru - (Italy)

The Lavabo Bathroom Company ran into severe financial difficulties last year, eventually resulting in bankruptcy
and an abrupt closedown. These difficulties resulted in problems with fulfilling the orders for many clients, and the seizure of goods by various suppliers. Some of the remaining assets of the company were purchased by a small group of architects in Italy, and we have now re-activated it, with new changes that will make ensure past mistakes do not re-occur. For example, the payment currency has been changed, and a credit card payment option installed in order to protect future clients and their orders. While there still exist many problems from the failed company, we are not in a position to comment directly on this particular complaint, as we cannot trace this client. However, we find this complaint strange as we understand this client had received the ordered goods last year. It is as shame that this Complaints Board does not take the trouble to verify statements before they are placed online, for the sole purpose of damaging companies.
