MaxBotix is based out of Brainerd, Minnesota as a manufacturer of ultrasonic sensors with an office in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and they are deducting wages from their employees and in many cases not paying them at all.  The company is on the brink of bankruptcy, and their cash is extremely low.

Bob Gross is the owner, CEO and (only) engineer at the company, and he refuses to pay his employees their agreed salaries and wages.  The company operates on almost zero cash and doesn"t have the financial resources to endure 2-3 poor sales months without going bankrupt.  The company phones ring all day long from debt collectors and credit card companies looking to speak with Bob Gross, the owner.

The company claims to be very religious, and they initimidate employees to pray during meetings and at scheduled morning prayers sessions, regardless of what religion you are.  There is a lot of pressure to show the owner and his wife, Bob Gross and Nita Gross, that you have the same beliefs as they have, or there is a very high risk of being fired.

There are many conflicts of interest at MaxBotix, and the worst are the amount of Bob Gross' familiy members who are in management positions, including Human Resources (HR) Manager Jessica Reid who is Bob Gross' niece.  Nothing can be brought to HR confidently knowing that it will not go back to the owner Bob Gross.

The ultrasonic sensors made my MaxBotix are very low quality with many inconsistencies and defects and can only be used in certain specific hobbyist applications.  This is based on the enormous amount of returns and refunds given to customers who purchase the sensors in hopes to integrate them into an industrial or commericial application.  It is not a sensor recommended for any industrial or commercial application.  It is a pure hobbyist ultrasonic sensor.  Many of the datasheets include false reading and measurements and data just to deceive customers and seem that the sensors will perform better than they actually do.

MaxBotix also claims their products are Made in the USA, but they are actually using transducers and other materials made in China.  There is only a basic final assembly done in the USA, and the rest is made in China.
