I went to buy a truck that could pull a 7000 pound trailer with three 1100 lbs horses in it. the salesman promised me the 2005 1500 4.7 liter would pull it just fine. Well it doesn't. I have had a really hard time getting up hills and just staying at an even 60mph. I went to another dealership and they told me that the truck I bought is not ment to pull that much weight. I should of bought at least a 2500. I tried to go talk to the General Manager Thomas Morgan, but he just sluft me off because they already got their commission. I was bent over and...well you know. I would of spent a lot more on a bigger truck but they assured me that the 4.7 1500 would work......well a pinto would work, but thats not what its for and the truck has started to show transmission wear after one month. The computer also went out.
I am very unsatisfied with Maxwell Dodge over on 620 in Austin and would not recommend buying a vehicle from them after the experience I had. They now want to offer me auction value, not even bluebook value to trade it in.....talk about a rip off. I would suggest Allen Samuels Dodge for anyone looking for a vehicle. those guys will tell you straight up.

#2 UPDATE Employee
New Management

I'm sorry this gentleman feels this way. I do want to mention two things.
First the dealership is under new ownership and new management.
Secondly, I suggest consumers take some responsibilty for their decisions. Do some homework, don't take a salesperson's word about towing without seeing it in print from the manufacturer. Towing charts are available.
Ask for a "Certified" salesperson or for someone who has been selling trucks for a long time. You can always ask to work with a different salesperson.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Towing Capacity?
AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

What was the posted towing capacity of the vehicle? Or did you bother to look? If a car guy's lips are moving, he's lying. Jeus, a 7000# trailers and 3 1100# horses. I don't know any 3 quarter ton truck that's gonna pull that kind of weight. You're gonna have to be in a 5.4L or larger engine or a diesel at least. Most MFGs post maximum towing capacity of all their vehicles.
