McCabe's auto repair Jay mcCabe We hired Jay mccabe to do a transmission swap on our 2005 ford escape 4x4 at his location. He failed to install the transmision we provided and cut the wireing to the fuel pump and disconnected wires under the hood and pulled fuses to make the vehicle unable to start. Canal Winchester Ohio

We found mccabe's auto repair on Craigslist Columbus he claims to be a ASE certified mechanic in canal winchester Ohio. He gave us a price of $430.00 to install a transmision so we towed our 2005 ford escape to his location which we found out when we got their it was his house that he shares with his parents. He said that he would have the transmission swaped out with the new one we providedid him in about 3 days.
He stayed in close contact with us over the period of 2 weeks and he called us up saying the vehicle was finished and he drove it around for 30 minutes and the transmission repair was successful and everything was working as it should he would call us the next day to arrange for pickup. So the next day at 5:30 pm he called and said to come pick up the vehicle ASAP because the city of canal winchester put a ticket on the car for parking in the road outside his house and that the neighbors were complaining about it being their and the fuel pump had stopped working and the car was not drivable so we would need to bring our tow trailer to pick it up and he would install a fuel pump at our location if we buy one to put on.
We arrived at his house at 7:30 pm that night and he was siting out side in his van waiting for our arival. He gave us a bill for the work and helped us load the truck on the trailer we wrote him a check for $430.00 and left. We ordered a new fuel pump on ebay and it came in the mail 4 days later we installed it our self because we had easy access to the tank from under the back seat. The truck still didn't start so we started checking the fuses their were some missing and some blown so replaced 1 relay and 3 fuses still no start so we check the divers fuel module under the truck and they were cut and ripped apart. So we. Called Jay and he was surprised to hear the news and seeing the pictures we texted him of the damage and was like wow how could that happen. He said he might of damaged it with a jack jacking up the back of the truck. He said he would make it wright and would order the wire harness and would install it and pay for the fuel pump we installed and paid $80.00 for.
One week went buy and he called and said he has the new part and he would come to our house in a couple days to fix it. Then he got the flu he was sick for a week then he got pink eye and was sick for another week the after that he was just way to busy to fix it and said he would get to it soon. He stopped answering our calls and text so we bought the wiring harness and wired it up still no start so we looked under the hood and two main wiring harness clips were dummied together but not fully conceded so I pluged them in and it finally started but the truck has the same symptoms no reverse and moves forward a bit just like before.
I checked the tray that was supposed to be the old one but I discovered that the yellow writing that was on the transmision was scratched off and their was yellow flakes everywhere it was the one I bought from the junkyard with marking scratched off on two different spots. I got ripped off I would like my money back for labor and parts and damages.

Jason McCabe at mccabes auto repair did not install the transmission . A1 auto and transmission which also own town and country auto parts in Amanda Ohio were I had previously purchased the Transmission installed the transmission after identifying their yellow marks on the transmission that they say never got installed.my ford escape now is in good running condition after installing the new transmission and repairing all the wires mccabes auto repair cut.
I have full proof and will now take legal action. I recently found out Jason McCabe who owns mccabes auto repair is out of prison on early release from a 5 year prison sentence after only serving 2 years for 5 counts of felony theft. Be smarter than us and do a background check first.
