It all had started when I came across Mr. McCloud's ad on Craigslist (Dallas) about an appointment setter position for a roofing company. I thought to myself that I could do very well at this job! I phoned Mr. McCloud that same day, and left him a voice message expressing my interest in the position, and then maybe about a day or so later he called me back for an interview. I went to the interview, Mr. McCloud explained the position, pay structures, etc., I got the job on the spot (I was hired as a regular hourly employee and NOT an independent contractor), and started training that following Monday.
I had worked from 12:00pm-7:00pm on 04/06/2015 as agreed during my interview. I had enjoyed the job because it was a laid back enviroment, and we just kept busy dialing homeowners all day.
On 04/07/2015, somewhere in the early afternoon right before I was scheduled to come in to work, I had phoned Mr. McCloud and advised him that I have to resign due to daycare issues..I did apologize to him and such. He was ok with that, and he clearly told me that on the following Friday which was 04/17/2015, he will make sure that my check is in the mail. Mr. McCloud did NOT tell me to stop by the office on that day and pick up my check, because if he did...I wouldn't be on here writing this report.
2 weeks (3 weeks since I had resigned) has passed since I am writing this letter and I still have not received my paycheck for that one day worked! Mr. McCloud is defintely breaking Texas labor laws by not paying his resigned employee on time! I had phoned Mr. McCloud one time on 04/23/2015(Thursday) @3:55pm CST and of course my call went straight to his voicemail. I left him a message stating that I had not received my paycheck yet and it has been at least some time since he claimed to me on 04/07/2015 that he will put it in the mail that following Friday. I had advised him that I will follow up with this Friday and Saturday's mail to see if it is there, and advised him to call me back if anything.
It is Saturday 04/25/2015, and no check or a call back from Mr. McCloud as of yet!
I am writing this report to warn anybody who is considering in becoming employed with McCloud Marketing to read between the lines, and I want to avoid anybody to not go through what I am going through right now.
Don't get me wrong, Mr. McCloud; from what I've experienced is a nice guy, but he has to get it together when it comes to the Texas Labor Law, and he needs to be sure and follow up with his "resigned" employees about their paychecks in case if they had called him and advised him that they had not received it in the mail yet.
If Mr. McCloud can't pay me for my time worked, then I will go to higher entities to make sure that this manner gets taken care of.
Here is proof that Mr. McCloud is breaking the Texas Wage Laws....

Payment Delivery
Unless an employee agrees in writing to accept part or all of their wages in another form, wages must be paid in United States currency, a written instrument negotiable on demand at full face value for United States currency, or by electronic transfer of funds.
Wages must be delivered to the employee at their regular place of work during working hours, mailed by registered mail or by direct deposit to be received by the employee not later than payday, by any reasonable means, or to any person authorized in writing by the employee.
Texas Payday Law does not address how long a paycheck must be kept active before an employee must cash it, but does state that an employee has the right to file a claim for unpaid wages up to 180 days from the date the wages were due to be paid.
Final Wages
Delivery of final wages can be made by the methods listed above. If an employee is laid off, discharged, fired, or otherwise involuntarily separated from employment, the final pay is due within six (6) calendar days of discharge. If the employee quits, retires, resigns, or otherwise leaves employment voluntarily, the final pay is due on the next regularly-scheduled payday following the effective date of resignation.
If an employee resigns or gives notice they will be resigning, there is no provision in the Payday Law requiring employers to continue to employ the person until the date they intended to resign or to pay them beyond time they actually work.
An employee may be entitled to unused wages for fringe benefits (vacation, holiday, sick leave, parental leave or severance pay) only if the employer provides for these benefits in a written policy or agreement.
And that is my story!
Mr. McCloud, if you are reading this...please respond as soon as possible, so that way we can get this manner cleared up! You wouldn't like it if any money of yours wa delayed for no apparent reason right?
Kind Regards,
-A**a O******a-

Good Day, I had been paid about 2 weeks after this Rip Off Report notice was filed. Mr. McCloud is still posting his job ads on Craigslist. Even over a year later, I still wouldn't recommend anyone to work for this man, unless they like free work! Thanks and good luck!

Hi! I was paid by Mr. Mc cloud about 4-6 weeks ago. I'm very happy about that! Great company to work for in my experience, but things didn't work out like they should have. -Happy Ex Employee
