I have been working for Mcdonalds for 5 years i have been hired at 3 locations and have worked all over the Toronto area I was suspended for 2 weeks (for a no call no show) and since I had another job I was only working at this location once a week.

I have gone out of the city for a few days with my family and my shift was on saturday...I called but did not get any answer..i returned to work the following week and worked my shift. after returning home from my shift a friend/fellow employee phoned me and gave me the message the a manager had told him to tell me that i was fired after discussing this with another manger i was told that i was not fired but suspended for 2 weeks and at the end of my 2 weeks i was told to contact the store manager to see when i could return to work.

after trying to contact the store manager for 2 weeks(leaving messages, visiting the store and tried to have a meeting with him 2 times and was told the "he was busy")during this 2 week period I contacted Mcdonald's head office about the manager saying i was fired and that she told another employee was to tell me that i was fired
to which mcdonalds said that they would look into the situation.. so as i was on a 2 week suspension and after 2 weeks of trying to get in contact with my store manager i was sent a record of employment in the mail and that was all i recieved.

I was not contacted by the store manager of mcdonalds head office but simply given a record of employment and that was all

Since the 4 months i have not been working for mcdonalds I have heard of atleast 1 incident of the same action taken aginst a felow employee

is this a complaint or a "what not to do if you want to keep your job" post.

first you don't make sure your boss knows you will be out of town then complain that you can't get a hold of him when he is actually busy showing up for work lol.

so you are the a%% *&^% that never shows up for work, putting the extra load on your fellow employees.

gee,you have it soooo rough, maybe the boss should have apologized for making you wait 2 weeks and given you a raise to boot lol.

i think i would rather put up with the rudeness and psycho behavior of some of the employees that ppl complain about on this site, at least they show up for work.

You only have to work ONE day a week at McDonalds. You get a 2 week suspension for not showing up and not calling. Then you go out of town with your family and DON'T SHOW UP FOR ANOTHER SHIFT and don't call in. "I called but no one answered" I won't even go into that line of thought. You wonder why you were fired? You've heard the same thing happened to another employee, I wonder why?
