McGee Preowned slammed me into a 06 Rav4 before I knew what was happening!  I went in looking for a nice used sedan with leather, low milage and good MPG. Before I knew it, I had signed for the Rav4 with a 4 yr/4800 mile extended warranty and GAP.  I agreed on 15,498 and put $1500 down (by check).  They said I could take delivery as soon as the check cleared. In the meantime, I asked them to service vehicle (tire pressure lite on, check alignment, needed floor mats, etc) and get service records.  The car fax they showed me had 2 owners (one prior to dealer), no accidents and 46000 miles, but they didn't leave copy with me.

Boyfriend picked up the car 4 days later - none of the service had been done.  Not even gas or windshield wiper fluid!  There was an inspection sticker but no inspection report was provided, or any of the service records I asked for.  There was no manager on duty, so we were told to call the next day. I called to complain about the condition the vehicle was delivered in, and some discrepancies I noticed in the paperwork.  Was told to bring it in and they'd take care of it.  I brought it back the next day (Saturday) and was told - sorry service is closed on evenings and weekends. You have to drop it off during the week (while I work?) - also the mgr was not there, so I was told to call him during the week about paperwork. They didn't seem surprised to hear that.

Before I could make arrangements to bring it in during the week, the car flat out died.  Came out of the store and it wouldn't start - no warning.  Had it "jumped" but all the dash lights remained lit. No power stearing, no power brakes, no acceleration - barely responsive driving home.  In crossing the intersection , I was nearly rammed by a truck carrying propane tanks because I couldn't manouver the intersection!  It was terrifying!  I arrived home completely shaken and car died again.  I had the vehicle towed back to McGee the next day.

To make a very long and agonizing story somewhat shorter - McGee did absolutely nothing!  Their shop kept it 2 days and returned it saying "all set!  :  )" - and told me it was just a fuse.  I asked for a complete service (all the stuff that should have been done before delivering the car to me) plus a report and explanation of the mechanical failure - I got nothing but the keys back.  I told them I was refusing to take the vehicle back. They laughed at me and said - "well, you can leave it here, but you own it, and we aren't responsible for anything that happens to it while it's here."  They totally took advantage of the fact that I was a woman, alone, assuming I knew nothing and would do nothing.  When I finally spoke to the manager, Josh - he actually yelled at me!  Saying "the alignment is fine - and I put a full tank of gas in it, didn't I?!?" I was floored.....when I mentioned the other issues, he actually hung up on me!

Every attempt at contact from then on was avoidance and the runaround.

I talked to a friend of mine about what happened, and they pulled up the REAL CAR FAX for me - showing 5 previous owners, a rear end collision, and the last odometer reading (10 months before I bought it) over 800 miles more than when I bought it!!

I tried to cancel the warranty(s) knowing they weren't going to provide reliable service.  The warranty company had never heard of me, and didn't have any record of a contract with me or the vehicle ($2870!) They told me to call the dealership. The dealership said "don't worry about it - we'll take care of it" and did nothing besides hold my money (that I was paying interest on every day!) Finally, my brother got them to produce the papers to sign for the cancellation - after stalling me for 40 days. I am still waiting for my account to be credited 45 days later.  The warranty company doesn't have a record of me and McGee says they sent the checks.

They still owe me for the tow, too! Another $30 cash out of my pocket. Giving them the receipt 3x and getting the run around every time I call or go in there.

Finally, in an attempt to try and keep me from reporting them to the Attorney General, they offered to take back the Rav and get me into something I wanted (finally, right?). They kept showing me used Camry's - that I didn't want, and playing the "numbers game" - They couldn't give me a straight answer when I asked what the purchase price of these cars were, what are you giving me for the Rav, what about my $1500 deposit, etc - and showing me monthly payments that were MORE than what I have now (what about the cancelled warranty, etc?)  The answer I kept getting was "don't worry about it".  Guess what??  I'm worried!!  McGee has lied and cheated every step of the way!  Why are they still in business????
