McLaughlin Family Law Office Elizabeth McLaughlin This woman basically threw my case out the window! San Antonio Texas

I went to this attourneys office for a consultation she asked for orders to go over in advance . I sent them prior to my consultation visit with her so she could go over. Well when I went to meet with her she had me waiting about 30 min so I left. She then called me and stated she went over my case and she knew my ex's lawyer very well and that she had beaten him before in court. She was very confident that she could win the case my sons father served me with papers to take my son. So paid her part to get started on my case we went to court fo almost a year because my ex's lawyer kept reporting not ready.Shes billing me for everytime she shows up in court and they reschedul its 250 the hour that she goes to court, she charged for every email and also charged for every time her paralegal or secretary called me. My bill was just getting higher and higher with nothing getting done.

A year later finally hes ready to finalize orders and I told my lawyer I did not want to mediate I wanted a judge to make the final decision. When the finalization day came I find my lawyer and amicus attourney sitting in a room they called me in to mediate. The one thing I did not want because we were not agreeing on anything she still agreed to mediate behind my back. When I asked to see a judge she said if you want to see a judge "I quit you can represent yourself" then the amicus attourney who had already finalized her orders for me to be primary parent and get $375 child support also said if you want to take to a judge i'm requesting all rights be taken away from you and given to dad.

I heard out the orders he was requesting the amicus attourney changed the orders to less child support and no primary parent. I did not agree to that being that my son would eventually start school. Elizabeth did not argue it she asked me to agree to it or she'd simply quit and then on top of that she asked me to pay my sons dad back half for the amicus attourney that the judge requested he pay for because he asked for one. She is suppoed to be on my side and she said it was only right that i pay him back. At that point I felt cornered and did not get a fair chance at anything. I was afraid to proceed when she threaten to quit on me for wanting a judge. I didnt want to loose my rights it was my first time ever going throughing this.

They offered the option to go back to court to modify two years later when my son started schooled but that was all they could offer me. So I went ahead and signed orders but got nothing i wanted from this only a 5,000+ bill to include all her emails, phone calls, court delays, and she did nothing for me but go agaisnt me in the end! I can not beleive this womam is still utilizing her degree. She lies to get you in and just takes your money if you dont agree with the opposite party she threatens to quit and leave you standing alone! I would never recommend her to anyone!
