Do not do business with Keith McLaurin or Rosita McLaurin of McLaurin Assent Management. Mr. and Mrs. McLaurin lied to my husband and I with regard to renting his house. We incurred several expenses to complete repairs at his run down home and even installed new carpet in good faith that we would be renting from his for several years as was verbally agreed upon.
Mr. McLaurin told lies and used his attendance at a Christian Church to deceive us into trusting his word rather than require his "promises" in writing. We fell for their scam and lost almost $500 in the process. We are now just glad to be out from under them and hope to ward of others who would think the McLaurin's to be trustworthy individuals.

Response from MAMG
AUTHOR: McLaurin Asset Management - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, August 19, 2009
McLaurin Asset Management (MAMG) has rented properties to tenants for at least 10 years, without incident.
In fact, MAMG has been blessed with awesome, long term tenants. For example, 1 of our tenants has been renting from us for over 6 years.
In this case, with K in San Diego, tenants did disclose they filed bankruptcy and had issues with previous landlord;however, they seemed to be trustworthy people who were trying to get back on their feet. MAMG believes in helping people and chose to rent to them.
Our agreement was to give each other 6 months to see how it works out. If after 6 months both parties find its a good fit, long term options could be discussed. During this time, tenants requested permission to install some carpet, a security door and a minor backyard upgrade. Though property did not need these upgrades, MAMG provided approval AND tenants were made fully aware that the upgrades would be made at their own expense. The end result is at lease renewal, the tenants chose to terminate their lease. MAMG proceeded with the usual move out process, including return of Security Deposit.
A Move out inspection was scheduled and performed with tenants husband. Tenants husband signed inspection paperwork with items that needed to be repaired/cleaned in order to get full security deposit returned. Some of the items were not performed and thus, only 88.2% of their security deposit was returned. The remaining 11.8% was deducted for cleaning/painting. In addition, a separate check was given for reimbursement for said upgrades. This amount was agreed upon by tenants.
MAMG considers this matter resolved.
Lastly, MAMG holds no hard feelings for "K" -- we wish them and their family peace and happiness.
Thank you,
