I was a Mead Float dealer in Australia, and deposited $10,000 US back when our dollar was .71cents to your 1.00 thus I actually well over $13,000 for a set of aviation floats to fit onto my aircraft.
I contracted Mead Floats in 2009 (AKA Mead Boats) to complete this by June 2010, unfortunately though through false promises and excuses I gave him to July to provide product or refund. He provided neither and when asked to refund he told me "come and get it" knowing it was pretty hard from Australia. Varoius law enforocement agencies became involved but costs were going to be equal to or more than when Mead owed me so I decided to delay legal action. Mead Floats have refunded $2500 only after I did threatened legal action which was 4 months ago with no sign of the remainder, so I'm organising debt collects to follow up.
This wasn't an isolated event, it all happened way too easy for Mead Floats.

Well the saga continues,
After employing a Debt Collector In Florida (now thats after involving the Florida Police Department and others) and after numerous excuses for delays, Phil Mead has done it again! hasn't fulifilled his promise to further return funds taken as a depoist for a product never made, of which by paying 1/4 back ($2500) is self admittance of failing to provide product and failure to fulfil contract by customer (me) and he agreed to.
I need to inform others in both the aviation and marine industries what has happened to me, hopefull warn other before it happens to them like one of my ex-customers. As I wrote to Mead, I shall let the public be judge and jury because after all the broken promises others in the US must be warned of what sort of buisnessman Phil Mead really is.
