Six months ago I got a policy with Mega Life & Health through my older brother's friend. After reading all kinds of bad things about Mega I decided to cancel it and got GoldenRule. Guess what? I have a lower deductible and my payment is $40 cheaper than Mega. My brother did not cancel, even though I showed him all the stuff in Ripoff report about Mega. He said that will hurt his friend's feelings. I told him he is making a big mistake and he is throwing his money in the toilet.

About Two months ago I got into an accident with my brother, my truck blew a tire on a highway, I lost control and we ran into a ditch. I broke my neck and my arm, and my brother broke his ribs and his legs were crushed. It was bad. We both taken to the Concord hospital. My brother had two surgeries since his left lung was puncher by his broken ribs. I told him he will be screwed since he has Mega.

Thanks to all your people, now I have bills that came from nowhere from the hospital. Apparently GoldenRule decided not to pay my bills in full, even after I met my $1,500 deductible. I have $18,667 to pay now. My brother has to pay $6,000 in total what is really wrong is his medical bills are much higher than mine. His so call crap plan pays everything after his met his deductible and his $4,000 co-incurance. And he is going through physical therapy now and it is paid for.

Me? My freaking neck therapy bills are piling up, on top of 18k from the hospital. Oh, my policy only pays a portion of the therapy because my therapist charges BEYOND reasonable charges, according to the morons at GoldenRule. AND TO TOP IT OFF I CANNOT SWITCH TO ANOTHER PLAN SINCE MY NECK IS CONSIDER A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION.

This sucks.

I've been a insurance broker in New Hampshire since 1985. You claimed you purchased a health insurance plan from Golden Rule within the past 6 months and are representing yourself as a resident on New Hampshire. The only plan Golden Rule offers in New Hampshire is a temporary health insurance plan which by state law can run a maximum of six months, and has limitations in coverage. Temporary Health Insurance can in no way be compared with a permanent individual health plan which is what you should have bought.
"My payment is $40 cheaper than Mega". You saved only $40 over Mega buying temporary health insurance? Temporary is usually half the price of permanent insurance.
"Apparently Golden Rule decided not to pay my bills in full". Health Insurance is a contract, Golden Rule cannot arbitrarily decide not to pay your bills. Contact the New Hampshire Insurance Department at 1-800-852-3416 if you feel Golden Rule is not honoring it's contract.
"AND TO TOP IT OFF I CANNOT SWITCH TO ANOTHER PLAN SINCE MY NECK IS CONSIDER A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION." You are being advised poorly. The New Hampshire Health Plan (a private plan) guarantees to cover someone with a pre-existing condition as long as they maintain continuous coverage. Group coverage through an employer or if your self employed is also guaranteed acceptance, you cannot be denied coverage. Get yourself a competent broker who can guide you through the process.

If you were in an auto accident, your AUTO policy should be the primary insurance in the accident with your Golden Rule as secondary. You'd better check it out with your insurance agent.
