ATTENTION SCAMMERS We have very bad experiences with the rental car Megadrive / Buchbinder at the Vienna airport. We hired a car for five days. The vehicle was a totally damaged Opel Astra Kombi,
which was already given us the comment "he would be totally scratched, but we could still look over it again". We picked up the car late in the evening, so it was dark and the car was still standing on a parking space in the car park,
which was almost not at all illuminated. Despite everything, we tried to look at the car as well as it did, but this was almost impossible due to the light conditions.
We were hardly able to identify any self-inflicted damage that was recorded on the surrender report. When driving on the highway, we quickly noticed that the car pulled very strongly to the left, so you had to constantly steer,
the steering was very spongy, and also the left front wheel made clicking noises.
Normally, we would have given the car back immediately, but since it was so late that the station was closed
and our whereabouts were further from the Vienna airport, we resigned, but it was clear that we would report this damage. When we left the car, we were compensated for a damage by the receiving employee, which was definitely not caused by us.
These are two tiny little pegs on the windscreen on the passenger side. I sat all the time, during all rides, on the
passenger side and a stone beating one notices. This damage was not caused during our rental period. When I pointed out the staff, this was directly very unfriendly. I then told him about the defect with the steering and
in response "This is not interested in the damage now!" receive. He demanded that I sign the protocol, which the stone strike as new, which I have naturally denied.
The employee then became more unfriendly. Three other employees, who were in the surrender office,
also looked at us only vaguely. (As a customer you feel very comfortable!) I then asked the employee again why he did not notice the damage I reported to him, which is not visible
on the outside, but which makes the vehicle unusable for other rentals. Again he said it was not important now.
(When it comes to traffic safety, I would very well say that such hints are important!) All in all, this transfer was the worst I ever experienced and we rent a car at least once a month
(also several times in Buchbinder and only a few weeks ago at the VIE site). They gave us at the counter then the mail address from the customer support and told us,
we should describe the process there, which I have also done the same evening. To date, no
reaction, but we were already charged an amount of 138 €. We will now make a police report because of fraud, because after I read all the negative reviews
on the Internet (unfortunately only afterwards, just google "Megadrive car rental Vienna experience"),
I am firmly that this procedure has method at this station. This is because these damages are not corrected,
otherwise not almost every customer would say that he has already received a demolished vehicle.
