We signed a contract to have a fence built with Meiers Outdoor World on 4/22/02. Our salesman said it would take a week to get the permit, then to allow another two weeks for the installation. "Make sure to call Charlie right away to schedule." April 29th I received my permit and called Charlie @ Meier's to schedule the install date. For three days I left messages and he never called back.


Finally my husband called and got a hold of him. Charlie told my husband that he never received his messgages from me. (Liar!!) Anyway, because of how long it took to get this guy on the phone, we were looking at a month now before our fence could be put in. May 29th he said. Fine, people make mistakes, whatever.

Now its May 29th. Do you think I have a fence? I called Charlie this morning he said he did not have me on the schedule for today and would look up my paperwork and call me back. 30 minutes later I called back. Charlie LEFT the office without calling me back!

After leaving messages with our salesman and various others at Meiers Outdoor world, Charlie finally calls back 4 HOURS later and says "Whoops sorry I forgot to schedule your fence for today. How about a week from now?"

I am in sales for Meier's and have been with the company since 2003. I was informed of this website from a potential customer, just this week. 4/2008

As with any large company there are things that may slip thru from time to time and have some difficulty getting resolved, but we do our best to try and please every customer.

Construction delays due to various reasons can, and do happen. Flexibility on the customers part is appreciated.

Having said that, the person mentioned in this report in charge of production is no longer with the company. Since then we have streamlined our efforts and become much more efficent in all aspects of dealing with the customer. As a salesperson it is very dishearting hearing negative things about the company I work for. Being an insider I know that every aspect of how we handle customer realtions is VERY important. Professionalism is our gaol, along with customer service.

We did finally get our fence 10 days later plus Frank Meiers, gave us a small credit of $100.

We did finally get our fence 10 days later and for all of our troubles the owner of the company, Frank Meiers, gave us a small credit of $100. The fence is beautiful, the guys who installed it were great.

I just can't believe all the problems we had with scheduling and returning phone calls. Very unprofessional for a company that has been in business 40 years.

We just had our fence installed today, I was on the internet looking for Meier's web site (which they apparently don't have) just to say thanks and what a great job the 3 guys did installing 250' of fence, no power auger, just these 3 guys busting their butts.

Obviously, I came across your web site, and I can tell you that I have had similar experience with our window guys (very discourteous, bad job, but we got $1,000 off the cost). The Meier's crew was wonderful, we even took their picture next to our fence.

So maybe something good came of the complaint on the internet? All I can say is we had a really good experience, and we'd be happy to talk to anyone about it. I also saw the "bogus" rebuttal, and let me tell you, we are ACTUAL CUSTOMERS, they just finished the job today. IN ONE DAY! And it looks beautiful.

very proffesional company

I not only had a fence installed by this company but a inground pool as well. And with any major job of this size there were a few problems.



My problems were submitted and i will tell you they were dealt with in a very proffesional manner and was very pleased that the owner of the company got involved and he himself visited my home on at least three different occasions not only to inspect the work that was done but to do some of the repairs himself.



I think its obvious why this company has been around for the 40 some years that it has. I think you would be very suprised with the service you would receive by bringing this type of problen to the attention of Mr Frank Meiers the owner of this company.
