On January 12, 2008 I had a fuel pump installed on my 2001 Chevy Surburban........ Thirteen months later I went back because the truck was having a hard start the same promblem before. I had it checked out and was told that it was the fuel pump. I went back to Meineke and spoke with Jim Allen the manager. He told me that the fuel pump was out of warranty?????? What? Are you kidding me!!!!!!!! A fuel pump is not suppose to last more than 13 months....... 8k miles? I paid $667.04 for a new .. what I was told at the time a new (original) GM Fuel Pump only to last 13 months............ I asked if they would install another fuel pump maybe the one they used was defective...... He said he would replace it and charge another $280 for labor. Why should I have to pay labor again for something that should have been fixed properly the first time and lasted more 13 months. I have made several trips to Meineke since then and was basically told the same thing .. it;s out of warranty, they don"t think it's the fuel pump.. etc... lie after lie after lie. I spoke with Chevrolet and they are willing to try to get the fuel pump replaced if in fact if it is an (original) GM fuel pump and not aftermarket. I went back to Meineke and asked Jim Allen for the receipt because unlike him, Chevrolet was trying to help me. He said that he didn't have the original receipt of the fuel pump purchase and that Meineke doesn't keep records of purchases. Again sounds shady to me......... It has been 3 years and i am still trying to get Meineke to replace my "defective fuel pump".....
Jim Allen told me on one of my many visits... I don't think it is the fuel pump but have the truck towed back to me when it "breaks down" and we will see if it's the fuel pump....... WOW!!!!!

Customers suv towed in (no start) in Jan 2008 (3 years ago). Diagnosed by ASE techs as fuel pump failure. Replaced fuel pump with A C Delco pump with 1 year warranty.Replaced pump and engine started fine and still starts fine 3 years later. Customer drove out (not towed) with running vehicle. Customer has other drivability issues and blames fuel pump. Checked in 2010 still has required fuel pressure at that time. Customer has a 10 year old vehicle and must realize that she may have to spend money for maintenance/tune-ups and other issues that may arise. Our diagnostics were correct and our repairs were good. Warranties are there to protect customers as well as businesses. Sorry we will miss her business just as well..

I took it to Chevrolet and they confirmed that it was the fuel pump and I paid $98 for a diagnostics to only confirmed what I already knew. **** Did you miss the part about me going back 13 months later with the same ( fuel pump issue)........... And yes I drove around for 2 years with a defective (aftermarket fuel pump)......... It is being repaired today and being fixed right this time by a reputable mechanic... I will never ever use MEINEKE ever again..they couldn't put air in my tire.

So according to your report you have been driving around with a bad fuel pump for 3 years?
You also only talk about having them check out your car. You mention Chevrolet but say that you only "spoke" with them. At any time during this 3 year period have you ever gotten a "second opinion" about the "defective" fuel pump.
