I visited Melissa a little over a month ago to possibly do my wedding this summer. When she told me to come to her studio in the city I was expecting to see a photography studio with some of her previous work hanging up. What I did find was a small 1 bedroom apartment! With a computer in there, Needless to say I was a little disappointed. Another thing that really turned me off to Melissa Diep Photography was her Facebook posts. She asked me to be her friend on Facebook to check out her work. All Melissa would post would be how she wakes up at 2PM and how she loves working for herself. Im all about people working for themselves and making a living, but how do you think that looks to prospective clients?? What if I was waiting on a proofs or an album and I found out you were sleeping till 2!
Needless to say I did not choose Melissa Diep Photography. After I got the price sheet which packages started at $4000!!!!!!!! This photographer is charging 4, 6 and 8 thousand dollars for only having 2 years of experience!!!!! I hope this prevents anybody from getting ripped off. Im sure that a few have already suffered that fate though.

Are you having your wedding in her "studio"? If not what does it matter where her studio is?
What does it matter if she gets up at 2PM? What if she works overnight to get your album or proofs done and gets to bed at 6AM? Not everyone works an 8-5 schedule all of the time, and photographers are known for having "unique" hours.
Depending on what you are asking for $4,000 may or may not actually be a competitive price, but she is free to charge what she wants. If you think it is too high then don't go with her, but it is not a RipOff.
Did you even look at her work? Did you call any references? Because that is going to be a much better guide as to the quality of her work than where she works out of or the hours she keeps.
And no I do not know this person or have not even looked at any of her work. Quite frankly you sound like either a competetor, or someone who has a personal grudge against her.
