I purcharse a 2008 Honda Accord in Jan through my credit union.The car had 105,330 miles. I paid over $600 for extended warranty for 24,000 miles or three years. My car was taken to Honda dearership based on the warranty company's recommendations and I have been told it is the cracking shaft, and timing belt that needs repaired. The warranty company wants me to provide reciepts for the maintenance (oil changes) of my vehicle before they will give you a claim number. They are prolonging the process by sending a adjuster out to verify the repairs needed on this vehicle. Their pamplet indicates they pay for car rental but without a claim number, the process does not even begin. The claim number will be given when authorization from the adjuster is made to rapair the vehicle. The Honda dealership is blaming the company for delaying the process. The company is blaming the dealership. I have been without a vehicle for seven day and the adjuster has not came out yet. Then to add insult to injury, I was informed that when I fax my receipts of the maintenace of my vehicle, the company may only pay for a portion of the repairs (parts and labor). Also what they do approve if anything to be repair may require me to pay the dealership and they will re-imburse me. This company is a fraud. I have called every day to inquire the status. On Friday, 10/24/14 a customer service repersentative from Member's Choice informed that it is my responsibility to provide written proof that my vehicle has been serviced. No where when I took out this warranty does it say I need written documents. My brother- in-law works at a mechanic shop and changes my oil every three thousand miles at his residence on his days off. This company is practiceing false advertisement. Per the Honda Dearership, Member's Choice company is looking for any way they can to get out of paying for this car to be repaired because what is damaged on my vehicle has nothing to do with my oil being changed. I do have written receipts from my brother-in law however. Member's Choice company procedures are in place to deter their customers from having their vehicles repaired. Their hope is that by the time they get around to starting the process by giving customers a claim number they will already have had their vehicle repaired. Their customer service repersentives each time you call seem to be trained on not giving out a whole lot of information.
