Memere Pata/ Heaven sent Sphynx British Shorthair with fractured leg, purchased at cat show from Alan Harding, Was never properly treated Hudson Florida

My husband and I purchased a British Shorthair cat from our local cat show the middle of april from Alan & Gloria Harding. Like others have said, they made themselves seem as reputable and knowledgable breeders at the time of purchase. Alan stated that he would give us a "deal" on our kitten because he was the last of the litter. He claimed he was in perfect health, never had any problems etc. We werent able to hold him at the time of purchase, which I assumed was because there were many other cats around and they didnt want him to become spooked and run off. Unfortunately upon bringing him home we realized this probably wasnt the case.

We brought our British Shorthair home the last day of the cat show, he did a lot of hiding that day being we have other cats and we were keeping him in a separate room. Once he warmed up and would come out to play, we noticed there was something funny about his leg. He walked with a slight limp, and upon picking him up and looking at it we could see that there was a curvature of his leg. My first thoughts were that his leg must have been broken at some point, and that the breeder didn't take the necessary steps for it to heal properly. "hence the deal he gave us"

We tried to contact the Alan within the first few days, but the phone number on his card he gave us was disconnected, as well as the website on his card was not in working order. This lead me to do some more research on the breeder, and as soon as I typed in his name on google, the only thing that came up were complaints, one of them stating that a customer of his had sued him, and won, but never received all the money he was supposed to be getting from the lawsuit. I also found out that he is running his cattery under a different name now from one of the complaints, Their original name was Memere-Pata Cattery, and now running under Heaven Sent Sphynx.

When our kitten first came to us, we noticed a distinct limp, but he didn't seem to be in a lot of pain from it, but as a few weeks went on, we noticed the condition of it worsening. We recently had him neutered, and at the same time had X-rays done of his leg, which sure enough, show a fracture and multiple injuries afterwards due to neglecting the broken leg. The xray also shows that the fracture was from before the time of purchase. Alan assured us he was in perfect health, we were never informed of anything having to do with his leg before purchasing him. We have tried to contact them two other times with no luck once before his X-rays, and once after stating that the break in his leg had been from when he was in their care and not ours.

We are now looking at over $2000 in vet bills to have the joints in his leg fused so that he is no longer in pain and his leg can heal correctly. His X-rays were taken at a local vet , and then also looked over by an orthopedic surgeon, and they thought at this point casting or splinting wouldn't do much good being his leg is already healing incorrectly.

These people obviously don't care about their animals, I have a good feel the "deal" we were getting was because they knew about his leg and didn't want to have to deal with it. If his leg was properly taken care of at the time of the injury, it would have been around $250 to have it splinted, and he would have been healed by now. Instead, he's been in months of pain due to his leg trying to heal itself improperly, and also not properly taking the precautions to help it heal. 

I hope these reports get out to the right people and they are shut down. We are at a lose of what to do at this point because we can't afford to just shell out $2000 at once for our poor kitty.
