Memorial Hospital west Superficial Wound of a 2 year old that doctor did in 60 seconds Pembroke Pines Florida

On Oct 07, 2015 we took our 2 years old son to ER of Memorial Hospital for superficial wound. Wound was glued in a minute without any additional exams or tests.

Later we received an invoice of $506.60 and although we made some investigations and that price looked above everything similar we could found, we decided to pay that invoice in full in order to close this chapter.

Our big surprise was when several days later  we received 2nd invoice, this time for a $1,481.00 from Martinez M.D. Nestor, Team Health Emergency Physicians.

We contacted patient Services by phone, sent a letter of dispute explaining that as per many investigations we did about the estimate price for this service is between $180 and $221. As per the same explanation we could found, even these prices are generally above standard insurance contract rates. We also sent copies of Healtcare Blue Book Price Estimate...etc to them. Unfortunately without any success so far.

We don't try to avoid to pay, however the prices should be fair compensation for cash paying patients which according to research in this case is up to $221 but not $1,987.60 which is almost 9 times more.

Somebody most probably will tell us now that Martinez M.D. Nestor, Team Health Emergency Physicians is a separate company and has nothing to do with Memorial Hospital, however, we didn't go to Team Health Emergency Physicians. We didn't even know who they are. We came to Memorial Hospital for services.

We are looking for adjustment of the invoice to $211 as per Healthcare Bluebook Price Estimate (or similar).

The price should be fair compensation for cash paying patients.
