Mercantile Bank is the worst bank that I ever had the sorry pleasure of dealing with. They threatened my company's merchant account because of a BBB report as well.
Well the BBB was started by Al Capone as a way to shake down business owners for money, creating the BBB was a way that the mob could make it legal. So now 80 years later, they are still shaking you down.
So getting back to Mercantile; they are using tainted BBB reports; because if you are a member, they will not report you. The BBB is not a government approved reporting agency that the banks are allowed to make decisions on, so any adverse decision based on a BBB report would be both illegal and inappropriate.
If you have had your merchant account or any other account suspended or otherwise negatively impacted, go see a lawyer and file a complaint with the state attorney generals office.
