When the previous owner of this dealership ran the operation, it was a little stuffy, but the service department I beieve was always fair.

Now that a new manager and a new owner is in place, they have a common theme. Rip off, lie, and tell stories to anyone who will believe them. Misdiagnose any and all cars and bill the owners like there was no tomorrow.

I took my $125,000 car in (a very sweet CL55) now that it is seven years old for a few items to repair. I had the car in storage for 2 years, took the car to a wrong repair shop and I needed a MBZ dealer to go through the car.

I was quoted $3,800 for a new ASP pump, $2,800 for a steering rack and $1,200 for my left seat controls that did not operate. Taking one issue at a time, they repaired my seat, but then the next morning the dash controls stopped working and the radio stopped playing, and the door locks stopped locking.

When I went back the next day, the service manager said it was not their fault. I mentioned that I had talked to the mechanic next to the one who repaired my electrical issues and he laughed how the mechanic had the entire wiring and dash apart.

MBZ diagnosed the car again. Another $700 spent, to hear it was deffintly not their fault and I needed a new wiring harness. The estimate was $12,000, yes $12,000. When I asked why they said the car was 7 years old and wiring goes bad. But they would credit me $700 that was spent for their previous yarn.

I took the car to a non-dealer for a second opinion, a certified mechanic, Yorks over on 3rd Street in Walnut Creek.

WOW what a difference. ASP pump was $1,400, but they could not fix the electrical, but inspected the splice repairs done at MBZ and chuckled. The steering rack was fine it was the $500 cellonoid that was bad that MBZ of Walnut Creek apparently misdiagnosed.

For the electrical, I took the car to Oakland MBZ dealer. They were great and they repaired my entire electrical issue with a left harness for $1,200. Let's see, thats a $10,800 savings!

So, if you want to pay double and get ripped off just to have MBZ of Walnut Creek do your repair, then "Caveat Emptor" my friend as they will see you coming. To them you are nothing but their next mark.

By the way I did contact the GM, suprisingly he did not reply. Nor did my servicing manager. I always like Andy Catucchi, but she is a differnet person since the burn up, churn um brainwashing took affect.

Oh, to their credit, they did ask me if I wanted to purchase a new car?

I replied you have to be kidding...from this dealership?
