Merchants' Credit Guide Co..aka CFB Financial, III LLC. These scumbags purchased a debt that was settled thru another scumbag "Camco" Chicago Illinois

After allowing my brother to use a couple credit cards to help him out, he never informed me of being laid-off and I was not notified of collections for almost two years. (started in 1992) I paid all but Bof A...I had no job and no funds. In 2002 I purchased a home and none of this was on my credit report.

In 2004 I was contacted by Camco, who by the way just lost their case to the FTC., but to get them off my back I sent a payment of $1,236.36 and I received a letter stating that the account was paid in full by a settlement. I only wish I would have known about them before I paid that money.

Well, they still re-sold that debt and first Asset Acceptance LLC tried to collect, then it went to Merchants' Credit Guide Co. who says they are collecting for CFB financial. They are one and the same. They tell me to "check" it or "wreck" it. How can we stop these collection companies from buying time barred debt and debts that are past statue of limitations?
There should be laws against these companies being able to even buy a debt that is 16+ years old! I am sick and tired of this following me. It is the worse kind of stress, and it causes depression. I don't want to answer my phone or use credit cards or anything. What can I do? I want to sell my home and drop off the face of this God forsaken world. The three credit agencys should not allow them to look into our credit history and have access to personal information. We should be contacted first, as to who wants to look at our info.
