Merchants Credit Guide has been calling me for over one year for a debt that i do not owe! i have talked to several of their representatives and asked them to stop calling but they continue to call several times a day in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

After a year of this harassment i filed a lawsuit and after i filed the lawsuit the calls finally stopped! i am now in settlement negotiations and everyone else should sue as well. i will share all information about my lawsuit to anyone interested.

Todd, good job!

Todd,

I'm glad you held them accountable. Most people don't.

This is a classic case why you NEVER speak to any debt collector on the phone. Always send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request upon first contact.

Send this by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records. this is very important as it proves WHAT you sent and who signed for it.
