In July of 2007 I got a letter stating a debt had been turned over to Merchants Credit Guide, their client LVNV Funding. I put all the information in the letter within 30 days asking for validation of the debt, but no address for LVNV Funding was there - only Merchants Credit Guide. I think they did that so that the debt appeared to belong to Merchants Credit Guide and not LVNV Funding, but since they claim to represent them, they were informed within 30 days.
Now LVNV funding, not Merchants Credit Guide Co. is on my credit report. TransUnion states debt has been verified. hey put a statement in my credit report that I dispute it, but need to now get LVNV Funding off my credit report since I followed FDCA protocol, or at least I thought - they are very deceptive and are fraudulent. Any suggestions to get them to get that information off my credit report would be great. If not, need a lawyer because they are in violation of the FDCP Act for at least 2 violations. Thanks!
