Merrill and Associates Law Firm Falsely led my husband and I to believe legal representation was needed for a mortgage loan modification/restructure! New York Internet

Merril law and Associates initially contacted my husband and I through mail. They claimed that we were pre-approved for a mortgage loan reduction/modification. Being financially strained, my husband made the call, in hopes of finally seeking help. Once in contact with this organization, they led us to believe that legal representation was absolutely necessary to achieve a loan reduction/modification. Long story short, we were originally told that the process would take 60-90 days, and the sooner we started the process, the sooner results would be achieved. The fee for their services was $3,500- which they so kindly broke down into three payments to help us out. Well six months later, with little communication and feedback from this organization, we were finally told that there was nothing that they could do to help our situation. Instead of our monthly mortgage payments being reduced, they have now gone up due to the intense financial strain their $3,500 fee incurred on our already struggling financial situation. This company is a fraud, and assures people that legal representation is necessary to achieve a loan reduction/modification; however, after speaking to our mortgage company we were informed that we could have done all of this on our own for FREE without any legal representation! Our main contact with this company was Sabrina Castillo, who was absolutely no help to our financial situation, and in fact only hindered our financial situation. This company is fraudulent, and preys on those suffering financial strain- stay away from them!!!!
