I decided to use this company after a recommendation by a friend, who was actually a Metro trainee. Worst mistake I ever made!!. From the day after I signed the contract, I began to see how dishonest and untrustworthy this company was. They immediately suggested I file false damage claims, while constantly tickling my ear with claims of getting 35% more back from my insurance company. For starters, by their suggestion, I bought tarps as a preventative measure to cover the damaged part of my roof, which they promised to reimburse me for but of course that never happened. My next issue was their so-called remediation company Sure Kleen, which they forced down my throat.

I was advised that all of the water damage ceiling should come down to prevent the spread of mold. I had my reservations because they never asked if the leak was repaired but I reluctantly agreed. I inquired with the metro agent about how this company was paid and she assured me that they were paid directly from the insurance company and NOT from my proceeds.. FALSE!! FALSE!!! FALSE!!! Imagine my surprise when I finally received my check and it was over $3000 lighter than expected....another Metro lie. Also, I also found it interesting that metro took out their percentage BEFORE Sure Kleen took out their fee.

When everything was said and done, 4 to 5 months later, let me just say that not only did I NOT get 35% back on my claim, the money I finally received was not enough to even cover the deposit for the work that was required. And now, despite numerous promises, I can't seem to get a callback or even an email. Surprise!

Like I said in the beginning, this company is THE WORST and I definitely could've made out better on my own. My insurance company was not the bad guy here, like they constantly stated, these scam artists were. In conclusion I want to thank Terri and Sammy for the life lesson!! Follow your instinct. What's actually stated in the contract outweighs any bs promises that they make.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Public home insurance adjusters are usually highly ethical, bonded, and licensed by the state

AUTHOR: Larry - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, June 02, 2018

I was interested in reviews of this company since they handled a relatively small claim for me. The claim was noticed during a free policy review and home inspection that my wife and I agreed to. The company representative and the trainee were professional, thorough, and noticed smoke damage to my home that I wasn't aware of.

I agreed to their 35% commission (an industry standard for a small claim) and since I do my own painting I pocketed the $4000 which was our share of the claim. I hadn't painted in years and was planning to do that anyway. I was impressed enough that I decided to become a trainee. Since my wife is very ill and requires a lot of attention, I've been a trainee for several years. I really enjoy educating homeowners and feel good about the work I do.

I compared that experience to an insurance claim that I filed some years back and did not get a fair shake from my insurance company. I did bring in a public adjuster late in the process (a mistake I won't repeat) and discovered that public adjusters are like the rest of us. Some are good, some are better, and Metro exceeded my expectations. I learned valuable lessons from the insurance review and I'm slowly correcting mistakes I made with the policy.

I've now spent several years as a trainee and continue to be impressed by how Metro deals with clients. They are not perfect but they do try harder. I've learned that the home insurance industry is ultimately not on my side, nor the side of our clients. Of course they make their money by limiting, as much as they can get away with, what they pay on claims. Most policy holders do not understand their policy, so a free policy review and home inspection was very beneficial to my family.

I don't know who the adjuster or field claim documenter was, but what they did for the client was clearly unethical and wrong. If I knew more about the situation I'd take steps to see that it's corrected. Metro is a veteran owned company and as a Vietnam veteran I reccomend that other veterans consider this field. It's a shame that the problem dates back years ago because the company I've come to know is a pleasure to be associated with. I must say, however, that we are not perfect, but we stive for excellence.
