So, I had been obsessed with Micah’s work from what I saw on instagram for years, literally. My 23rd Birthday was coming up and I finally had some extra money to purchase some wigs from him. He often posted about deals (he calls them MacPacks) where you get three wigs for $1000. That seemed like a good deal to me because they were all frontal units, and included ~5 bundles of hair. I contacted him via email to arrange for a purchase, because I did not see the MacPack I wanted on his website, although the individual units were still available. He promptly sent me an invoice for $1010 (units + shipping) after “confirming” the units were still available. Once the check cleared in my account, i paid the invoice and was told I would receive my units in 2-3 business days. Mind you this is a week and a half before my birthday so I wasn’t tripping. Three business days go by and I had yet to hear from him with a tracking number, so I contacted him to make sure everything went through with the payment. Now, I knew the payment cleared because the money was clearing missing from my account and the transaction was no longer pending, but I let his excuse that the payment processor was glitching and refunding everyone’s money. This was exactly a week before my birthday, and I was starting to worry I wouldn’t get my birthday gift to myself after all but as long as I received my refund, I was okay. A few more days go by and I still hadn’t received it so I asked for proof from Square that my refund was being sent. He sent me a screenshot from Square that stated he “requested” a refund of $1010 to my account and I would receive it in ~7 business days (doesn’t sound like a glitch to me). I had the money to buy another set while waiting for that refund but I don’t like spending money as is so I decided to try to wait, but I expressed my disappointment about not having my birthday hair to him. This is where I was confident he was trying to scam me. After I complained, he asked me if, once the refund cleared, I could transfer the money directly into his bank account, so that way he’d have my payment instantly and could send my units out same day as they were “already packaged and ready to go”. I was ready to curse him out, but I kept it professional and simply stated that I’m not comfortable with that option because I was not protected in the event that I did not receive my units. He said okay and that he was “just trying to help me out”. After that, I was completely done and just wanted my money back. I filed a dispute with my bank, and sent them all of the communication between Micah and myself to build a case, but I continued to email him every single day about the status of my refund but he’d always say he had just contacted Square the previous day, and was waiting on a response from them. He has been ignoring me for about two weeks, and has not responded to my bank’s dispute team. Long story short, to all my wig wearers and hair suppliers: DO NOT DEAL WITH MICAH (DA MAC AKA MICAHTHEHAIRGOD)!! He is a bonafide con artist and needs to be stopped! It’s just sad that talent like his can go to waste out of greed!
