Michael J Auto Sales Weinle Motor Sports Dishonest Sales and Repair. Poor quality repair Cleves Ohio

I test drove and put a $1800.00 down payment on a used 2003 Saturn Vue on 5/8/2014. I signed a note that I would pay the balance on June 2, 2014 when I received a check for a pension disbursement that I requested. The total purchase price is $3000.00 plus tax and title. The day that I gave the down payment, I asked them to check out the code on the check engine light. He said that he did and it was due to a horn issue and said that they turned the light off. So, I took the car home. The next day, I heard ticking in the motor. I took the car to an independent car shop on 5/9 and had it inspected. I was given a list of issues that the car had. The first was that the check engine light was back on and was pulling the codes of two O2 sensors. The reason for the engine ticking was bad rods and bearings. I took it back to the car lot. The owner was not on the lot when I brought the car back in. One of the workers called him and the owner told him not to let me take the car off of the lot because it was not safe to drive. When I got home that evening, I called him and told him that I wanted out of the sale. I was having a hard time hearing him on his cell phone and he said for me just to wait and he would see what he could do with the car. The next morning (5/10), my husband and I went to the car lot to talk to him. I told him that I wanted out of the sale. He got loud with me, told me that he was having a bad day and that he was not going to talk to me about it. So, I went out to my car and called the police. Three sheriff deputies showed up. After talking with Mike, he said that he would order new bearings, replace the O2 sensors and add refrigerant to the air conditioning unit and have the car fixed Tuesday or Wednesday (5/13 or 5/14). The sheriff told me that when I go back to the lot to pick up the car to call the sheriff first so that they could go with me because they do not want me there alone with him. The car was not “fixed” until 5/16 and I picked up the car on 5/17. When I picked up the car, the check engine light was back on after 7 miles. The air conditioning was not cool and the engine still ticked. I have asked for him to cancel the sales three times and he will not.

On June 2^nd, I received the check and the bank told me that they had to hold it for 3 days to make sure it cleared. I called Mike and told him the situation. He said that I had to come in that day or he would repossess the car. I told him that I had been patient and professional with him throughout this process despite the problems that I had encountered. He started yelling at me and accused me of saying things that I did not say and again told me to come and pay him or he would repossess the car. I told him that I would find a way to get the money and come in after I got off of work. I showed up that day (6/2) with the sheriff and Mike was not there. One of his workers took the money that I owed and gave me a receipt.

I now have a car that can not be driven in it's current condition and I do not trust Michael J Auto Sales to try to repair it again.
