Michael moved next door to my in-laws. He claimed he was a celebrity jeweler.  There are some internet pictures of him with c-level celebrities.  

He was nice and my wife decided she wanted to redo her engagement ring.  

After a few conversations, we agreed to $3,800.  We paid to Michael a deposit of $1,900.  

And then...the delays began.  First, it was he was sick.  Then his mom was sick.  Then it got crazy.  He said he was robbed.  Then he stated that his girlfriend got access to his accounts and stole all his money (this is a complete lie).  Then it was talk about him killing himself (yep, it was absurd).  

We were sympathetic.  6 months in, we asked that he just finish the ring or give us back the money.  He wouldn't agree to either one.  He offered payments...we agreed but that was just another delay scam.   He's never made a single payment to us.  

Finally we told him that we don't believe him and that we're suing.  He said he's moving (he was evicted) and we could never serve him.  What legitimate jeweler would hide to avoid a $1900 claim?  A fake!

He said he already paid for the stones; so we asked him to at least give those to us (anything in return for our money and months and months of delays) and he never did.  

Now, it's months later we're left with nothing to show for our deposit.  Even worse, the one piece of jewelry that my wife wore every day and is supposed to symbolize our love has been mired in this guy's scam.  

He's a total scam artist and liar.  Don't trust him with any work and certainly never pay him any money.  I hope our painful and sad experience helps someone stay out of his reach. 

He'll feed you some pretty lies, but at the end of the day he's nothing but a charlatan and fraud.  

If he had any respect, he'd at least resolve this in court; but no, he continues to hide.  We may not find you Michael, but I doubt anyone else will want to business with you.
