I agree that Monica sounds very upset, but I have firsthand knowledge and experience with Michele Bermel. Michele does not care about children. Michele's opinions and actions are aligned with promoting her career, and with maintaining her strategically formed friendships in the courthouse. Michele lied during my case, as well. Fortunately, her power dwindled to impotence when I hired a 'big gun'. It is one thing to say that you did not have a negative experience with Michele, but noone can speculate on Monica's experience. My first hand knowledge tells me that if you have had a good experience with Michele, you happened to have the attorney she sidled with. Unfortunately Michele's decisions are not based on the interests of the children. I know an attorney recognized as a pioneer and expert in his field, hands down, by attorneys nationwide. This attorney wrote an article about corrupt law guardians, based on his knowledge of Michele Bermel. I laugh to see positive feedback on Michele, when she has inspired a true expert in the field to author papers based on her lies, corrupt behavior, and failures as an attorney for the children. 

The original report appears to be some form of personal vendetta and in my opinion does not at all reflect the Michelle Bermel who as an appointed Law Guardian represented my children during a very contentious and difficult divorce in 2010.  Michelle was a caring, conscientious and highly professional attorney who at all times had my kids' best interests in mind.  Even when her decisions and recommendations were at times contrary to my desires, it was very obvious that she was doing only what was best for them.  A year later, I can attest to the fact that Michelle was the best thing about that difficult time in our lives.  She continues to check up on my kids and they absolutely love her.

If anyone out there is using this website to determine Ms. Bermel's qualifications, I strongly recommend you ignore the things claimed by "Saint Monica".  

Virtually nothing in the complaint penned by "Saint monica" is true or factual. This submission was the result of a very disturbed person who, apparently after losing a Family Court case, used this forum to smear a woman who is perhaps the finest, most skilled, fairest and most caring Family Law attorney in the state. Ms. Bermel is held in the highest regard by all of the legal community of Westchester, and is considered one of the fiercest advocates for the welfare of children in the history of her profession.

It is my observation that, based on the ridiculous and loosely anonymous signature of the writer of the rant that it was actually the ravings of a woman from Irvington, New York whose "Coalition" pretends to be involved with family law matters but which actually uses circumstances of families in need for her own gain, both financial and political.

Regardless of any of these unsubstantiated writings, anyone who is sincerely interested in the reputation of Ms. Bermel should certainly not consider the smear that was written here as anything by a loser's rant and a significantly immature and wildly unprofessional attempt for retribution against an attorney whose primary concern is and always has been the best welfare for any children involved in the painful proceedings of divorce or other family matters.

A forum such as this that accommodates anonymous, libelous entries should never be considered as resources for anything as serious as matters related to Family Law. The only way for you to know the truth regarding Ms. Bermel is to contact the Family Court of Westchester; the Law Guardian panel of New York State; or virtually any other Family Law attorney in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, or even Manhattan; or the Westchester Bar Association; or any other reputable source of information regarding attorneys' histories and reputations in this county. I assure you that you're certain to discover that "Monica's" complaint is criminally wrong.

Giving any credence to the puerile writings of that woman who signed herself "Saint monica" would be the equivalent of relying on writings on a bathroom wall.
