I sent a quickcollect payment from western union on August 1, 2008, later on that day I called and I was told that the funds went to Mid-Atlantic Finance in Florida. I told the Customer Service Representative (CSR) that the funds went to the wrong place.

Now here it is 13 days later and Mid-Atlantic still have not returned the funds back to western union so it can be routed to the correct company. I have been on the phone talking with western union everyday 3-4 times a day trying to get a resolution to this issue, and I'm told that Mid-Atlantic in Florida have not return the funds back to them and that they have not answered any of their repeated phone calls.

I called down to Florida everyday since August 1, 2008, and I have been lied to and given other people voice mail just so they don't have to deal with me. I don't understand that if I don't have an account with your company how can you just keep my money. Now I'm being considered 30 days late on my payment and have to come out of pocket for late fees and now my credit would me affected, just because they won't call western union and tell them it was a mistake that I'm not a customer of theirs.

Whose fault is it?

Mid Atlantic Finance is a company with typically around 35,000 accounts on their books at all times. There are about 200 employees between the office in Clearwater, Fl and Houston, Tx. I don't believe they are intentionally trying to keep your few hundred dollar payment, they don't need it.

Perhaps this rip-off report should be directed to the person who made the error in sending the payment to MAF. Just a thought.
