Mid-City Management, Inc. Eric J. Schulman Cheated us out of our deposit when we spent hundreds of dollars to make better that it was when we moved in. Decatur Georgia

When filling out an application for a new house for rent it asked about my old landlord. I typed his name (Eric J. Schulman) and company into Google and one of the first results was his Rip-off Report. It said he was crooked and the city has been trying relentlessly to file a class action lawsuit against him. 

He ripped us off and cheated us out of our deposit ($900) for "The refrigerator and the oven being dirty." Completely false, and even if they were disgusting, it wouldn’t have cost $900 dollars to clean. When we moved in the walls were chipped, scuffed, and marked all over. We painted the living room blue with our landlords consent. When we moved out we spent close to $500 painting at least five coats of recommended white paint in every room in the house. Two of my roommates were Art majors at SCAD and Georgia State majoring in Illustration so it was a more than sufficient job. Every wall in the house was in better shape when we moved in and we cleaned everything and mopped all the floors. We left it better than we got it but they still refused to give us any of our deposit back. 

I lived there for just shy of three years and anything that needed fixing took weeks if not months for him to actually commit too. We moved in the middle of the summer and noticed there was no AC fan outside of the house. It had been removed or stolen. It took him a month and a half for us to actually have AC in our house after he promised it would be just a few days. The same thing happened with the heat in the winter and many other small repairs that needed to be done.
