Upon arriving at MidwestCarSearch, I was immediately bombarded by a salesperson who tried to sell me a car. She was rude, disrespectful, and loud-mouthed. To entice me to buy a car she kept trying to tell me stories about how she was such a humanitarian and used vulgar language about how MidwestCarSearch was way better than CarHop or DennyHecker. One lie that she gave me was telling me that she had previously inspected cars for 26 years for some other company and stated that MidwestCarSearch has the most integrity out of everyone. Well, later on I noticed she changed it from 26 years to 16 years. A small lie, but still a lie. In addition, whenever I asked about a certain condition on a car, she never gave me a straight answer, she just beat around the bush (so much for being an expert on cars). Also, she never told me the prices. Well, later on, she admitted to me that she was a recovering alcoholic and had to attend her AA meetings. In addition, she was about to lie to the credit agency about a paycheck that was from a former employer by saying that it was a legitimate check. Also, they charge an excessive amount of interest for the financing of the car without proper reasoning.
On the website, it states that Victor Nelson's expertise is "helping people obtain financing that have credit problems. The merging of a small 'Do it the right way!' car lot and guaranteed approvals seemed the perfect fit; Allow everyone an opportunity to finance their car and be treated right at the same time." This is far from the truth. This guy is crooked along with all of the other employees working there. No one is treated right. When I asked them questions about the warranty and about seeing certain documentation, they were reluctant to give me any information. I felt like I wasn't being treated respectfully.
The court considers the effect that the seller's conduct might possibly have on the general public or on the people to whom the seller advertised the product. When the salesperson was telling me about the car, she said that it had been just brought in from a previous car owner who had owned the car for a while. When I looked up the VIN number, it stated that there were 16 records for this vehicle. I am sure that due to the high price that they probably would charge for the car and high interest rates, I am sure several other people previously had defaulted on the car.
The list goes on, but overall from my own experience MidwestCarSearch is a horrible company with no ethics and no integrity. Do not do business with this company. Hopefully, this report was informative for future consumers to stay away from purchasing at MidwestCarSearch. Once again, this is from my own perspective which may differ from other perspectives.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Response to complaint from Christine
AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, October 11, 2008
Christine, the author of the original complaint, attempted to purchase a used motor vehicle from our dealership. She applied for financing and was approved with several conditions. One of the conditions for completing the approval, required proof of income in the form of a current paystub from her employer Above and Beyond Nannies, Inc. She informed us she had just started her job with the new company 1 week prior and would be getting a paystub in 2 weeks. Approximately 2 weeks had passed and the documents we had informed her she needed were not delivered to us.
We contacted Christine on 08/23/08 and she informed us she would be in on 08/25/08 at 6:00 P.M. with the documents. On 08/25/08 at 6:30 P.M. we attempted to contact Christine and we were informed by her employer she had gone home for the day. On 08/28/08 we again, attempted to contact Christine and she informed us she would fax the document by 08/29/08. On 08/29/08 we again attempted to contact Ms. Farrell and were not successful, we left a voicemail for her to contact us. On 08/30/08 in an attempt to try to contact Christine we started calling references Christine had provided us with. Please keep in mind Christine had been driving the vehicle for 3 weeks at this point. On 08/30/08 at approximately 1:00 P.M. we were able to contact her boyfriend who assured us he would get in touch with her.
On 09/01/08 we were contacted by Christine's employer Erin Hammill. Erin immediately threatened to contact her attorney if we continued to "harass" her employee by trying to contact Christine. We informed Erin of the repeated requests for the documentation Christine had said earlier she was waiting for. Erin seemed more understanding at that point and requested 24 hours to provide us with a paystub for her employee. We agreed to this request. Within the 24 hour period we received a fax from Above & Beyond Nannies with the requested paystub which we then forwarded to the lender.
Within 3 hours we were contacted by the lender informing us that the paystub that had been provided to us by Above and Beyond Nannies, was a fraudulent document. We questioned the lender and we were provided with proof of the fraud from Above & Beyond Nannies Inc. The lender informed us that they were refusing to advance any funds to us for this customer. We tried contacting Ms. Farrell to inform her of this and received no phone calls back.
On the evening of 09/03/08 we had a tow truck and driver pick up the vehicle at Christine's home. Christine took delivery of a vehicle on 08/11/08, 24 days later we finally had resolution to this transaction.
I am disappointed Christine would bring up a previous employee's disability. The fact she attended AA meetings has no significance and I am confused as to why it would have even be brought up at all.
