We bought a refurbished Speed Queen UC60BN2 on line and by phone as we are located in Florida. Jim Shultz assured us with a 3 month guarantee on his washer. At the first trial the washer was not working properly. the touch pad leds were not workink, the cycles were erratic and the power switch was always lit. We call Jim Shultz to have it fixed under guarantee. He refused and told us that we " fried" the computer board, wich is a perfect non sense as the board is powered by a low voltage transformer up to 280V input.

We did fix the washer and this is what we found (we took pictures and email part of them to Midwest Laundries to make our case). The computer board was the wrong one with the wrong software (software o2C3 instead of o2UF software for the regular F0370455-20P board that fit this model. Key pad leds were all burnt (LEDs are low voltage). Power switch connected improperly. The person that refurbished this washer was evidently not an electrician or a technician. We did not buy the part from Midwest Laundries as Jim Shultz suggested for the computer board and we are glad.

This company is a fraud. Don't buy from them on internet and by phone. They don't stand by their word. They take the money and run......

Customer Improperly Installed Machine. We Offered To Assist Him and He Responds With this Libelous Report?

AUTHOR: Midwest Laundries - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 14, 2016

These are libelous statements by a man who cut corners and did not have a qualified installer hook up this machine. We cannot stress enough that these are commercial units, not simple at-home appliances and they require specialized knowledge to properly install. This is part of our written warranty policy (copied below) and when customers choose to cut corners we cannot be held liable for the damage that they cause to the machines.

  1. We do not take your money and run. This customer’s employee, who was not qualified to install this machine, ran into trouble during the installation of this washer. He called our shop and spoke with our Senior Technician, Damian. The installer said that the machine was not getting any power. Damian, being an experienced technician, was able to troubleshoot this issue over the phone. Damian first asked what type of power the building had where the machine was being installed. The installer informed Damian that there was high leg electricity. Damian’s next question was which line on the washer he had the power running to because when installing these 3 phase washers, you CANNOT run the power through L1. It MUST be run through L2 or L3. If you run the power through L1, as the installer did, you will ruin the board. That is what happened. After learning of his mistake, the installer switched the lines and told his boss/our customer that he never had it hooked up to the wrong line. Our customer then called to accuse Damian of lying when all he was trying to do was provide assistance and help our customer’s employee. Damian had no incentive to lie to the customer.

2. The machine was rebuilt by our Senior Certified Technician, Damian. He has over 9 years of experience and is Factory Certified through the equipment manufacturer Alliance Laundry Systems, who make Speed Queen, Unimac, IPSO, Huebsch, and Primus. To make untrue statements and question the credentials of our most experienced and knowledgeable employee is again libelous.

3. The machine had the correct part. All that picture shows is that the machine, at the time of the photo, was in programming mode.

WE ATTEMPTED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION AND HELP OUR CUSTOMER: The customer also spoke with the owner of our company, Jim Schultz. Jim offered to provide the replacement board to the customer AT OUR COST. We felt that was a fair solution to a problem caused by customer installation error and we will not be bullied into paying for his negligence.

Here is a copy of our published policy, which can also be found on our website, stating “All sales of rebuilt washers and dryers are final. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure their building meets the electrical requirements of the machines that are being purchased. Midwest Laundries is not responsible for parts or labor costs resulting from improper installation. If you do not have a qualified installer please ask us for a recommendation in your area.”
