Midwest Towing and Recovery POSSIBLE SCAM Springfield Missouri

After leaving a Concert at the Gilloiz in Downtown Springfield Missouri last night, we walked back out to the parking lot and thought our car had been stolen!!!  We then noticed these two men towing a VW Bug from a handicap parking lot and asked them, " is the lot was private"?   They said. " yes" and ponted to the sign.  We did not see the signs pulling into this private parking lot because the signs are so short.  As a matter of fact, we had avoided pulling into the connecting lot because it was well posted with a $40.00 towing fee sign, so we avoided parking illegally.  (I hope i can attach photo)  We asked the man if he had towed my car and he confirmed that they had and explained that it would cost $175.00 to get my car back and then explained i would have to get a cab because they towed it several miles out of town.  I could not believe my eyes!!!  They were hauling cars in and out of there like an assembly line with tow trucks lined up in the streets to take them back to their business to be locked up for the ransom of $175.00.  And as furious as i was, all I could think about was the poor handicapped individual that was going to return to their empty parking spot.  We took off walking (downtown Springfield, MO at Midnight) and finally flagged a cab.  As luck would have it, we found the nicest cab people ever and they explained to us that we were the fourth people that they had picked up this week.  I checked the Better Business Bureau on this company and they are not members.  I found several complaints online but this is the only site i could open up, i thank the people that posted in 2011, unfortunately they have scammed alot of money since then.  Hopefully my post will get something accomplished.
