Mike Hutchison Palm Springs Landlord Doesn't Return Refundable Security Deposit Palm Springs California

We used an online rental site to arrange a 3-day stay in a house in Palm Springs. Arrangements were made with the landlord, Mike Hutchison. Mysteriously, the $1000 refundable security deposit was charged, along with the rental and cleaning fees, to Laguna Beach Recover--it's telephone number is 1-866-493-4527. The house was left impeccably clean. The owner acknowledged we were "great guests". He may have been appreciative that we were patient with the water outage that occurred due to an unpaid bill (this was verified by a call to the water company before calling him).

Many telephone calls and emails to both Mike Hutchison and to Bob Metcalf, owner of Laguna Beach Recovery--both acknowledging the refund is due--have resulted in no result. A VISA dispute is in progress. I am concerned however that renters subsequent to our stay are going to have the same problems if these men are not held accountable. I am unable to alert renters at the online site because the owner has disabled the Guest Comment feature.
