Mile High Singles had been preying on me since 2014, kept calling me for over two years, to ivnite me to their office to "check things out." Until 2016 Sept, after passing a very difficult licensing exam, I reponded to their scamming invite and agreed to go in for an 'interview, totally unaware that it was a ultra high pressure Sales Presentation, and fraudulent scheme, aiming to CAPTURE me as a PREY falling into their trap.

From my understanding of Contract Law, there is "Fraudulent Misrepresentation" commited by Mile High Singles or its Center Director, who conducted the "interview" - Sales Presentation. "Fraud" is defined as "The INTENTIONAL misrepresentation of material fact in a way so as to harm or take advantage of an individual."

To resay what I pointed out in the email correspondence :
I HAD NO UNDERSTANDING of what I was initialing, hence, I was NOT INFORMED of your unusual "No Refund" policy. You or your company CANNOT presume knowledge WITHOUT POINTING out these absurd stipulations.
If a contract is signed under "duress" or the party signing the contract has no clear understanding what they are signing, or the party lacks the ability to understand the contract, the contract is VOID or VOIDABLE. You simply cannot trick someone into signing an agreement that the other party has NO FULL knowledge or understanding.

The following email chain between the Mile high Singles Center Director, S (for "Scammer") and myself, V (for "Victim"), explained what actually happened. My text will be in bold font:

Dear V,

Nice to hear from you.  Thank you, I did have a wonderful labor day weekend.   I enjoyed meeting with you and our wonderful connection. Our meeting did not qualify as a wonderful connection. I was naive to be too trusting and share just about my life history with you with a carelessly opened mind, while your motivation came from a business position. As you mentioned, my conversations were "inviting". It was horrible that my friendliness could lead me to the road of exploitation by trickery.  When we meant, you were excited about dating. Pardon me, these are your words. Not mine. I am rather neutral to dating. As you heard me during your presentation, I was ready to give up the idea of involving myself in any romantic relationships partly because of my past 3 terrible experiences with men. Besides, I did share with you that "I am happily living on my own - emotional independence", and that I am financially independent.   You freely handed your credit card to me to charge Again, the reality was that you asked for my credit card and my driver's license in a commanding manner and even gave me a hug at the end of our appointment. Hello, I offered to shake your hand but you said that was not good enough saying, "come on, what hand shake? give me a hug." To be honest with you, with my personal behavioral disorder, which I will describe later, I felt really uneasy and was stressed out by your action. But please do not take it personal, I am uncomfortable with bodily contacts from most people...

V, you signed a Membership Agreement I signed the agreement under your High Pressure Marketing strategy, which I was totally off-guard. I was under the disguised impression that it was going to be a get-to-know each other friendly kind of chat. I got the reality bomb dropped on me when I asked how much did it cost... Remember how I apologized profusely about taking up so much of your time, at the end, when I was reluctant to sign on... It also consumed the same amount of MY time on top of a half an hour journey by car. Additionally, I ASKED TO ALLOW ME TIME TO THINK IT OVER BUT YOU REFUSED, kept adding on pressure on me. My mind was fried and exhausted after being "grilled" for an extended 2 hours plus... and initialed your understanding of our “No Refund” policy on the back of the Membership Agreement. Thank you for bringing that up. I had no idea what you did with my credit card and driver's license as you took them away from the tiny room where you conducted the meeting. I went to the restroom. When I returned to the room, you were not there, so I just sat and waited and "cleaned" that tiny table top where a tiny spider or mite ran across earlier while we were talking (something related to the Anxiety Disorder). You came back into the room and handed me back my card and license, and asked me while pointing to the specific places as to where to sign where to initial, WITHOUT HIGHLIGHTING what the signatures and initials were for, leaving me NO TIME to read nor review the document. That is NOT ETHICAL practice. Moreover, I mentioned how my ex-husband would sit and read every single word at a Closing of a Home Purchase and irritated the whole gang... You must be laughing you head off seeing how stupidly and naively I followed your "instructions of sign here, sign there; initial here and initial there. So in conclusion, I HAD NO UNDERSTANDING of what I was initialing, hence, I was NOT INFORMED of your unusual "No Refund" policy. You or your company CANNOT presume knowledge WITHOUT POINTING out these absurd stipulationsYou also signed a credit card receipt that clearly states “no refunds.” Your TINY credit card receipt is barely readable and the print of "no refunds" was at the very bottom, purposely put at a unnoticeable place, where the words "Thank You" are normally placed in most business practices. Colorado is not a right of rescission state, and so our "no refund" policies are clearly outlined. While that may be true, I do understand that if a contract is signed under "duress" or the party signing the contract has no clear understanding what they are signing, or the party lacks the ability to understand the contract, the contract is VOID or VOIDABLE. You simply cannot trick someone into signing an agreement that the other party has NO FULL knowledge or understanding.

We are more than happy to assist you with your Membership in any way but we do not offer, nor are you entitled to, a refund of any kind. Thanks but no thanks. I had already contacted my credit card company on the same date I wrote you the Notice and the $1995.00 charge posted by your company is in DISPUTE.

What I have written so far may not weigh much of anything but please allow me to inform you :

1. I am in the process of getting a medical letter from my doctor verifying that I am under psychiatric treatment of a significant Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. You could possibly imagine someone like me cannot be spared of some kind of "damage" after going through all those life traumas - they were all too much for a human brain to handle. You would not want someone with such an Anxiety Disorder in your elite singles club. Feel free to contact my ex-husband to get an inside scoop of the hellish life i had - however, I must say that thank God that when I gave 99% of my 30% impaired functioning, (totally devoted) to raise my two exceptionally smart and talented kids, I did a great job - "Raised two ROCKING kids.", "You kids were great because you stayed home with them!", said a friend. I told my kids, "People (men) do not like my Phobia of bugs and germs, and my Phobia does not like them either."I am rather independent and totally enjoy my own company. FYI :  Severe cases of OCD can cause an extreme amount of distress, and the disorder can dramatically interfere with a person’s daily life ,follow this link for more info : psychguides.com/guides/obsessive-compulsive-disorder-symptoms-causes-and-effects/

2. A close friend, who is a businessman, has also find a News Investigation channel for me to contact.

3. I also am aware of local advocacy groups who can help. In any case, I will mail my doctor's Medical Release Letter in the coming dates.

Respectfully, Sincerely, V

Dear S

Thank you for taking your time to meet with me last Friday on Sept 2, three business days ago. Hope your labor weekend was wonderful!

That intensively personal meeting was mind draining. As a matter of fact I was totally unprepared for what I was asked, on the spot, near the end of the meeting - a rather heavy duty personal and time commitment to a dating service. As you knew, I had never done any online or offline dating services before and the experience of that first initial meeting was way off from what I had pictured. I attended the meeting, with you, with the mere mindset of checking things out and trying to find out how it would work.

I had a chance to look at my calendar and my future commitments over the next 12 months. Unfortunately I simply do not have that time. Moreover, because of other PERSONAL COMMITMENTS, signing onto Mile High Singles will present numerous agonizing conflicts.

Therefore, I need to terminate/rescind the contract biding me to any and all parts  of the Mile High Singles Contract. Concurrently, I need to you to refund the US$1,999.00 that was ran on my credit card.

Sincerely,
V
