 on June 22, 2012, i stopped in at Advance auto parts at 5496 Federal BLV, in Denver to buy oil and filters, and parked in the lot for the store, but away from the buliding, no signs saying that i couldnt park in that area. as i was paying for my items in the store, i notice my 99 Suburban move back, so  i look, and its backing out attached to a tow truck. i chased the driver and asked what he was doing..he never said anything, i stood in front of his truck and called 911, he tried then to run me over, and attempted to pull a weapon of some sort from his seat, then backed up and drove off.  the whole store saw this,  and was blown away. Adams County SD arrived, and took my statement, then they tried to contact the tow company, and the owner of the lot itself,  they got the run around from the tow companies dispatcher, and finally got with the owner of the lot, she said that she had contacted that company to only tow abandoned and over nite parkers, and not peoples cars using the business,

 eventually, after a big run around, the officers took me to the yard at 4300 Elati street,  and talked with the man who stole my truck, and he said, i have  signed contract to tow..cop said, ok...but not for people doing business with the autoparts store..they went back and forth,  then finally the lead officer said look, either turn the truck back over to the owner, or ill arrest you for motor vehicle theft,  the officer asked me if i wanted to press charges, after thought, i just want my truck back, and dont have the time to follow up in court.
so before you bend over and hand over 300.00 to these dirtbag car thieves. call the law...and then and only then if its a good tow, should you pay...
