I initially began e-mail dialogue with Mind Trading Corp./ySandals.com in early April when I was contemplating a purchase of shoes. I learned of this company through a Yahoo! listing and decided to check them out. I asked them if money orders were acceptable payment. They responded with an affirmative and the address to send it to--the Miami address; they also kept constant contact with me while I was still preparing my shopping list.

When I finally got my list together and sealed the deal, the last e-mail contact they made with me was the confirmation for the order (dated 19 May 2008). I sent a money order of $126.58 for Order #1016, Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. I needed to clarify where the money order should go, since the invoice still had the Anaheim address; I received no clarification. I sent it to the Miami address on 21 May, and it was delivered there on 23 May.

Since then, I have made at least three attempts to acquire a status on my order, all to no avail. It has been a month now, and I have received nothing from this company...not even an e-mail notification. Two days ago I attempted to enter their web site, to discover that it has been suspended.

A web search on this store today confirmed what I began to suspect: that this company has ripped off prior customers in the same way. I did not expect this to happen, as I have done numerous business transactions via mail order and the Web, with no problems in the past. It should not come as a surprise that there is still the possibility that an unscrupulous business can exist, despite the laws that can have dire consequences to anyone who engages in such criminal behavior. Since I am not the first victim of this store's shyster practices, I join the crowd to bring this business down through legal action and, hopefully, recovery of funds.
