I put a deposit on a pre engineered hanger kit in Dec. 2002. I was told it included everything I needed.
When i recieved my purchase package my shipping costs were 400 dollars more than quoted, color was extra and there were no certified truss plans.
I called Scott Hefner to ask about choice of colors, he said it was extra and if I waited until spring he could get me a better deal on thier specials. I asked about shipping and he answered that he made a misquote and was this okay. I said yes, but no more extra costs or surprises.
I asked about certified truss plans for my building permits and he said it is a pre engineered kit and I probably would not need them. I told him if the plans were not included and I needed them for the permits that I did not want the building.
I was told by Scott that I would get my deposit back if I could not get my building permits. After showing the building inspector my assembly and foundation plans he said I still had to have certified truss plans. I told Scott this and he told me I had to pay 800 dollars for the certified truss plans.
I told Scott I wanted to cancel my order and he told me there would be a storage fee for my building kit. He was suposed to call me back and tell my what the cost was. He never did and would not return my calls to him.
I than talked to Bob, Scott's boss, and he waived the cost of the certified truss plans. I asked about price of color and spring specials, he said there were none and the price was 1200 dollars for the color.
I canceled in May, that day, and they kept my 2,200 dollar deposit.
I am glad that Brad found some satisfaction from Miracle Truss, but I believe it is not a personal problem but these are just standard company practices. Since I know of two other individuals besides myself whom have been mislead or lied to by sales representitives.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
THE TRUE FACTS
AUTHOR: Dick - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, May 18, 2007
We make the finest pre-engineered steel building package in the industry. We have a dedicated and highly trained sales force, professional engineering department, certified welders and a skilled work force. Our manufacturing facility holds a number of special certificates including the following: IAS, ICC and IWS. We have been in business for over 25 years with an unblemished track record. We deal with the public and our customers in an honest and open manner. We stand behind our buildings.
We recently learned of this Customer's posting on this website. We were extremely surprised. The Customer purchased our building package in December, 2002. All of the terms of purchase were clearly laid out in a letter agreement. The Customer was given three (3) days to cancel his purchase which he did not do. The agreement clearly specified the sheeting color and stated that certified plans were not provided but available at an additional cost to the Customer.
We honored all of the terms of our agreement with the Customer. After he purchased our building, we incurred significant costs and expenses on the Customer's behalf in order to meet our contractual obligation to him. We prepared and forwarded to the Customer anchor bolt setting plans and related materials and information.
The Customer contacted us four (4) months after he purchased the building. He notified us that he no longer wanted the building and asked to be released from his contract.
We explained to him that his contract was non-cancelable at this late date and that we incurred significant time and expenses to meet our obligation to him. However, after several discussions, we agreed to let the Customer out of his obligation to take delivery of his building.
He specifically agreed in a signed agreement, the purpose of which was to resolve all issues, that we should retain his initial payment as partial reimbursement to us to help defray the costs and expenses we incurred on his building. We in turn agreed to release him from his obligation to take delivery of the building and pay the purchase price.
The issue for us is that the terms of our agreement were clear; and we performed in accordance with all of the terms of our agreement. We incurred significant time and expense in preparing the plans, shop drawings and engineering only to have him renege on his contract.
Nevertheless, in the interest of building goodwill, in May 2002, we accepted his proposal that we accept his initial payment as partial reimbursement for all of the costs we incurred and released him from his obligation to pay for the building package he purchased. Four months after releasing the Customer from his contract, he complained on this website rather than discussing it with us. We don't understand. We were always a toll free call away (1-800-521-0386). It just doesn't make sense.
