Mission Fish Aka Points Of Light Foundation Charity ripoff on creative billing and collecting Washington District of Columbia

Mission Fish calls themselves a charity, yet they are not a 503(c) so they operate under the veil of Points of Light.

Here is what goes on: They clearly state on their website that a $10 minimum donation is required. This is no problem. As a concerned seller on Ebay I set up an auction for 100 charity bracelets for $2.99 and opted for 50% donation to Mission Fish which would net them $150 donation on each of these listings. This was a pretty nice thing to do and I planned on doing it frequesntly as a way to give to charity.

Here's where things go sour:
*Mission Fish hides additonal information behind a clickable link saying that even though it is one listing you will have to pay $10 for each of those 100 items which is very deceptive.

I contacted Mission Fish and was assured that my account would be corrected and to just pay what was collected no that they want to clean out anyones account. I thankfully retained the email.

I paid what was collected but continued to see a balance due in my account of $600 - my future emails were ignored.

Mission Fish retains your debit card info so they did attempt to clear out my account - but since I had been ignored I had the sense to transfer monies out and had to close my account - this was a huge inconvenince and had I not been advised to remove funds I would have been ripped off.

BE CAREFUL - do not donate through Mission Fish
