In March 2006 my family fell prey to this company. The basement was appealing because it was freshly painted and carpeted. Not for long though, because there were cracks in the foundation and floor that were hidden behind all the new drywall, carpet and linoleum.
When it rained a little more than usual, the water poured down the walls and ruined the carpet. The linoleum bubbled up like a water bed filled with water. The mold grew rampant. This happened twice in the two years we lived there. Needless to say the house was condemned.
But they still expected there monthly payment on time, even though the house is not fit to live in. Everyday you are late the payment grows, at a astounding rate. If you are late on the eleventh day you are in default. I have wasted Forty thousand dollars on this sham!!!!! And we have nothing to show for it.
If I knew of a class action lawsuit I would be the first in line, but I don't know who to turn to. Think long and hard before you sign on the dotted line! And NO you do not actually own it, that's a lie too.

People get one thing straight about this company. YOU DO NOT OWN ANYTHING!!! Look very carefully at the contract that you are about to sign. If you dont trust me, take it to a real estate attorney. This is a land title contract, nothing more. When you buy a house your name is recordeded at the recorder of deeds. PLEASE PLEASE check the county that the house you are looking at is in. The house is in(.....) property trust, or (,,,,) JL Cone Trustee. This company makes all it's money charging over priced amounts of rent for crappy houses. They buy houses below market value and then up charge them $30,000-$40,000. Please do your homeowork before you deal with this company. Again if you dont believe me check the county accessors office of wherever the home is. This company takes the money of hard working people, sets them up for failure, and then takes them to eviction court. How you ask can you be taken to eviction court for something you own?? Look up online the missouri case net. It is a listing of all court cases. Then look up "missouri property trust", or JL Cone Trustee... Look at the 15+ pages of "rent and posession" cases that are on there. You cannot be evicted from something that you own!!! Thats right YOU DO NOT OWN THESE HOUSES. Lastly... they send you a mortgage interest statement at the end of the year so you can claim your interest on your taxes... Yeah, about that. Why dont you call the IRS and tell them what kind of deal this is and see if they allow you to claim the interest on a house that is not in your name at the recorder of deeds. This company is a SCAM!!!! They are LIARS!!! John Cone is a ignorant A^# HOLE who is only concerned about
