Received a phonecall -- caller ID read "NAVIGATA" with phone number (646) 383-1481.

A man with an Indian/Pakistani accent asked for me by name (although with the wrong middle initial). Then he claimed (falsely) that I owed $150-something to a health club (to which, to the best of my knowledge, I have never belonged).

I hung up and called back, speaking this time to a girl (also with an accent). She claimed she had no records for my phone number. (How could they have called me at that number and asked for me by name without a record?) When I insisted on speaking to a supervisor, she resisted. I asked for the name of her business, the address, what kind of business they ran, etc. She eventually grew concerned (because I was telling her repeatedly that I knew her employer was running a scam and that I was going to report them to the police), so she gave me to a "supervisor" named "Alden" who wouldn't give me his last name, but proceeded to ask me for my social security number!
