Mobile Media Solutions -Total scam, Internet

On July 25th, 2011. I was on Facebook and noticed one of my friends had posted a link and a comment about how he scored free airline tickets.  I clicked on the link and was led to page that said I was one of the lucky winners of free airline tickets or a Walmart giftcard.  I should have known better but I didn't see any fine print so I entered my cell number (because it was required to get the free gift). 

At this point I felt that it was a scam so I closed out the window.  I immediately received a text from 29937 giving me a pin number for some site called Guessology.com for ringtones.  It stated that it was $9.99 a month and to reply STOP to cancel, but since I didn't sign up for anything I ignored it.  I then received 2 more SPAM text messages from the same number, so I blocked the number out of pure annoyance. 

August 1st I received my Sprint phone bill with a charge for $9.99 under a line item called "Commerce E Kate:  Alerts:-29937 Total Horoscope- 7/25."  After some Internet research it looks like this is a scam that fooled lots of people.  I found a thread that listed a number for the company and I called and went through the automated phone directory to cancel my "subscription". 

This company is a total scam.  The web site looks really shoddy with ambiguous technical language throughout its pages.  They are obviously hijacking Facebook accounts to SPAM people and get their info so that they can bill them for membership fees.  $9.99 a month?  $120 bucks a year from one unassuming person, they must be making millions.  I usually don't check my Sprint bill because it's alway the same every month and it drafts my checking account.  Luckily I just happened to look at my statement.  I'm sure Sprint will refund the money, they are very good about that.
