I purchased a Cell phone from http://www.onlinephonesdirect.com/ prices @ $355.00 USD, at first with my Credit/Debit card. Grand Total with a shipping fee was $18 USD for a grand total of $373 USD.  Later that day I receive and email from sales@onlinephonesdirect.com informing me that they have problems completing my transaction for just 1 cell. That I need to Western Union a money order for purchases less then 5 in quantity. I go through the steps necessary to receive my purchase and wired the $373 USD via Western Union to a Edwin Thompson as instructed. Grand total with the transfer fee of $42 USD is now at $415 USD.
I was told it was received and that I would be provided with a tracking number. My next email to
sales@onlinephonesdirect.com is inquiring as to why i haven't received a tracking number yet. I was then informed that CUSTOMS was requiring a fee of $250 USD to ship to my address.
I stated that is unacceptable and told them to cancel my order and wanted a full refund. As per the log session, you can see that I was denied and when asked for a tracking number, since it was already shipped and on hold at CUSTOMS, I was then informed that the business owner was in South Africa and would not release the tracking number to the "sales rep" Already knowing I've been duped, I inform them that i shall take matters into my own hands. This is only the first step.
If you check the attachments you can see exactly how I was duped and was attempted to be duped again. No refund was offered, only either purchase another cell for $415 USD or pay the $250
CUSTOMS fee. Once expressing my disatisfaction of my options I was then threatened: "Please stop insulting us or you will regret it", but it was I who was insulted.
There are 7 attachements as evidence to my case and I am seeking full restitution for what has transpired. Also the "establishment" should be scrutinized for its practices as I will be doing my part in seeing that their customer base knows of their intentions.

Onlinephonesdirect.com & Notebookdirect.net fraud

AUTHOR: ajpd90 - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, October 18, 2009

I'm a fraud victim of notebookdirect.net website which pretends to be LAPTOPS DIRECT ENTERPRISE LIMITED. I purchased a laptop from this company and I never receive it. I paid trough western union because they told me that their credit card processor wasn't working. When I was to be receiving my item I sent them an email asking them of what had happen and told me that I had to paid $250 dollars to the delivery company that it was something they didn't expected. Then I demanded a refund, but they told me that it wasn't possible since it was already registerd to the delivery company. So I demanded to speak to the CEO and they told me that he was in africa in a business trip. So I asked for his name and cell phone number to speak to  the CEO. So the custermer sevice(cellabase@gmail.com) gave it to me. The CEO supposedly name is Bello Anthony Moruf, when I called him, I demanded him for a refund, but told me that it wasn't possible that the only options was if I pay the $250 fee or to buy another laptop so they could afford the shipping. I belive I was dealing with the same person or people who did stoled from you, since I also receive emails from the company that came from this email sales@onlinephonesdirect.com.

I wanted to know if you ever resolve your issue with that company, if not please contact me by email ajpd90@live.com. I would like to exchange opinions and some options that we could do to bring justice to this company or people and get our money back.

Onlinephonesdirect.com Fraud

AUTHOR: MPD - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Monday, September 28, 2009

Dear Sir
I read to dismay your blog brought to my attention by our website developers.
I am the CEO and owner of the 'real' Mobile Phones Direct Ltd. Our UK based business has no links in any way to onlinephonesdirect.com, a website that was brought to my attention only last week which has simply lifted our company name and registered address details (it is illegle not to dipslay them on UK websites for obvious reasons). The email address and phone details given in the 'contact' section of the domain of onlinemobilephonesdirect.com are in fact the fraudsters registrant details whom I suspect you spoke to. Refer to the whoIS database.
Needles to say that I am far from happy that an invidual has used our details, you think it's us, so I have reported the incident to the UK Thames Vally Police fruad dept. AND the domain-name hosting company (((Redacted))), who have responded as follows;
Hi,

First off, I agree that there's something going on with this store.

I've got a back door into their Admin Control Panel for their store. They haven't fulfilled a single order since they've gone up, but they have approximately $16,000 USD in orders from all over the world that are still pending. I'm doing all I can to shut down their site now until the server team comes back online and can delete their account.

Regards,

Technical Support
(((Redacted)))

more... As the operator of a real e-commerce website that can be found at www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk (as the domain name suggests it belongs to us, Mobile Phones Direct Ltd rather than www.onlinephonesdirect.com ) can I strongly recommend to you and all persons reading this, that you take simple checks on the basic validity of any website they you are buying from. Typically that the domain name usually matches the company name given for the site, and that the site is 'secured' with something like Thwate certification (as is the real Mobile Phones Direct Ltd website).
You mention in your blog our customer base. Can I respectfully ask that you don't do this if you intend to 'direct' this at Mobile Phones Direct, as it is slanderous and you'll be barking up the wrong tree and making false accusations. If you want to chase down the culprit and owner of onlinemobilephonesdirect.com, your best bet is the whoIS database. In the event that I hear anything from the police then I will post another blog on the incident to help you out.
I hope you get some if not all of your money back.
Regards
The CEO
for the 'real' Mobile Phones Direct Ltd and not onlinephonesdirect.com!!!
