I took my daughter to one open casting in Austin and my niece to another one in Dallas. We saw two different "teams". THe first team was a nice young man and Dwight Agnor, Dwight was an absolute p***k to his co-worker. I felt so sorry for the kid. Don't be fooled by Dwight, he seems convincing but they only want you to sign up to get these pictures done - even if they know that you don't have a chance. They were "picking" everybody to be conned into getting these pictures done.
It is actually a good deal on professional photos, but don't do it unless you just plan on having nice photos. The only way that you know that you may have a chance is if Dwight hangs around you the whole time and tries to get you to sign a mother agreement - then you might have what it takes. If they don't ask you at that event to sign a mother agreement then they are scamming you into paying big money for pictures and nothing else.
The event in Austin was much different. It was a team of two girls, much more real and down to earth than Dwight was. It was very reassuring to meet them. One of the girls, Deanna is full of crap - she told everyone that she is signed with Elite (a model agency) and that she is making big money and all sorts of other bullshit. She doesn't even look like a model and everyone could tell she was lying, I called two different people at Elite and they have never heard of Deanna. Elite was also very interested in what I thought about Model Search NYC. The other girl was Amy and she was probably a model before but was more humble and very energetic about her job.
Together this team did a much better job picking people as I felt they were much more honest about who had a chance or not. But the Deanna girl was on a power trip or something and presented herself as superior to everyone else.
The bottom line is that these people are absolute liars. Any business that promotes this dishonesty needs to be shut down. Dwight should be ashamed to have people running around the country telling people that they are high paid models. People all over Texas are scrounging to save $500 for pictures so Dwight can line his pockets and ultimately mess with the self esteem of all of these people. I have no problem with making a buck, but it must be done honestly.

I am DeAnna, the girl named in this complaint. Whoever wrote this complaint is just trying to make people think there is something wrong with us. The truth is that MODEL SEARCH NYC IS THE ONLY MODEL SEARCH THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!
According to models we have met, here's the true facts about all the other model searches:
MODEL SEARCH AMERICA CHARGES OVER $1500 TO ATTEND THEIR MODEL SEARCH CONVENTION.
PROSCOUT CHARGES $800 TO ATTEND THEIR MODEL SEARCH CONVENTIONPLUS A LOT OF OTHER CHARGES LIKE A $75 GUEST FEE FOR EACH GUEST ( INCLUDING PARENTS), SEMINARS AND PICTURES AND HOTEL ROOMS, ETC.
IMTA CAN COST OVER $5,000!!!
Other model searches and model scams love to put stuff like this about us on these sites because nobody can find out who they REALLY are and nobody can ever verify anything that is said. They can just make up any phony email address, logon to this site , make up a phony nameand then they can say anything they want and get away with it. Fortunately most people know better than to believe anything on sites like this.
Millions of people have been scammed by model scams. I WAS ONE OF THEM!!!
I went to a model search convention when I was 16 years old and spend over $1,000!!! I HATE THOSE MODEL SCAMS!!!
The only reason I now work for Model Search NYC is because MODEL SEARCH NYC IS TOTALLY HONEST!!! They are the ONLY MODEL SEARCH COMPANY that charges no fees of any kind. That's why I am proud to be a part of this great company.
Dwight Agnor actually invented the model search convention concept in 1989. EVERY OTHER MODEL SERACH COPIED DWIGHT AGNOR!!! So of course they are all very jealous and envious and do everything they can to try to make him look bad.
DWIGHT AGNOR IS AMAZING!!! Dwight has started the careers of hundreds and hundreds of models. I have personally had the privilege of meeting many of these models, some of whom are the highest paid models in the world. Some of these models have done covers of Vogue, Victoria's Secret, Sports Illustrated bathing suit edition, and the first male model to ever get a multi million dollar spokes model contract from Estee Lauder. ALL THOSE MODELS LOVE DWIGHT AGNOR!!
All you have to do is go our website at modelsearchnyc.com and see what all the top model agencies and models say about Dwight Agnor and you will know all these complaints on all these bulletin boards are completely bogus.
And the part about Dwight treating his employees badly? What a joke!!! Many of the people who now work for Dwight have been with him for over 10 years. We all love Dwight. He's an amazing and generous and caring man that does anything he can for his employees. The waiting list of people trying to get a job with our company is a mile long.
All the models who get selected by us and attend The Model Expo rave about us. We get hundreds of letters from models and parents of models who take the time to tell us that their time with us was fabulous. I can honestly say that I have never met one participant who has ever said anything bad about the company or Dwight Agnor.
My advice is to ignore anything you see on these silly sites. If you want to know the truth go to our website or call the agencies yourself and then you will know why I AM PROUD TO BE A PART OF MODEL SEARCH NYC!!!

Like all the reports on these bulletin board sites, this report in entirely bogus. MODEL SEARCH NYC IS THE ONLY MODEL SEARCH THAT CHARGES NO FEES OF ANY KIND!!
The person who filed this complaint claims that she is the mother of a model who attended one of my free open calls. Would any mother use this kind of language?
This person has gotten very personal and insulting in this complaint for no apparent reason.
If this "mother" really thought I was such a P***** then why did she drive all the way from Austin to Dallas to attend another open call just 2 days later??? And why did she get just as insulting and personally attack Deanna ( the sweetest southern girl you could ever meet ). The answer is obvious. The fact is this person is using this site to discredit us. There is no name and no contact information so nobody can ever verify complaints like this one. That's why people like this love bulletin board sites where they can hide their true identity and then say anything they want.
Most of these complaints are actually filed by real model scams themselves who are very threatened by legitimate people like us. EVERY OTHER MODEL SEARCH CHARGES CHARGES UP TO THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to attend a model search convention. I suspect that this phony complaint is just one more attempt to keep us from providing the only free service in the model scouting business (there have been several phony complaints like this one)
We have a policy of never bad mouthing other model searches. Unfortunately, not all model searches have such a policy. In this situation, another model search called PROSCOUT was conductimg their model search in Austin and in Dallas at the same time we were there. I was disappointed when several people who had attended their model search then came to our open calls and told us that the people at PROSCOUT had said evil things about me and our company. I can only hope that they were in no way responsible for this complaint as well.
I can understand why the people at PROSCOUT ( and others ) would be frustrated by having to compete with us. After all...PROSCOUT CHARGES $800 TO ATTEND THEIR MODEL SEARCH CONVENTION. MODEL SEARCH NYC IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!! But that is still no reason to bad mouth the competition.
Just as this complaint says, Model Search NYC holds free open calls to discover new models. Those selected are invited to attend our Model Expo. THE MODEL EXPO IS THE ONLY FREE MODEL SEARCH CONVENTION!!!
Those selected can also build a FREE PROFILE PAGE on our website so that agencies can check them out prior ro meeting them at the Expo. We also pay the cost to design A FREE COMPOSITE CARD for models to bring to the Expo to leave with agvencies.
The only thing we require is that each model have a minimum of 4 good professional pictures to show to the agencies at the Expo, as well as for the free profile page and the free composite card.
Models can get their pictures done wherever they want. If they don't know where to get them done, we povide a photo shoot in their area before the Expo for an incredibly low cost. MODELS DO NOT HAVE TO USE OUR PHOTO SERVICES!!
