Model Talent Network Aka Photographers R Us This Company is Not A Real Company and Scammed Me Out of My Money New York New York

While using a real Casting Call website, there was one company that came up looking for petite models. Being short, of course I responded. So I get a call from them the next day thursady) to come in the following day (Friday). When I get there, the hallway appearance together with the people working there are very unkempt, yet I though th nothing of it since it's my first experience in the industry.

Anyway, though the place was closing, the "interviewer" calls me in anyway. Speaking in a pace to fast to understand, he manages to let me hear $250.00 to take photos right now. not having too much time to even think, I'm rushed in to take photos. But not before writing my name and number on a dirty dry-erase board. Having noting to compare this to, I didn't think too much about the makeshift studio. Who'd ever think about scams. But they are real.

Without fixing my hair or suggesting anything, the photographer/interviewer just starts shooting. He told me to put my chin down a few times and told me to stand a certain way once, but that's about as far as it went with his professionalism. After about 15-20 shots, I'm practically shoved out the door and told to wear jeans when I come back on monday.

Only when I get out of the building, I speak to my sister who warns me that it may be a scam. So I reasearch the compny (of course only now) and find that it really is a scam. There are numerous sites, forums and articles that warn of the use of this "company."

To top it all off, I was supposed to be charged the over-priced amount of $250.00, but when I got the chance to look at my receipt, it read $271.00, non-refundable. And the name Model Talent Network did not appear anywhere on the receipt...but the small stamped name in the corner of the rectangu;ar receipt that read "Photographers R Us" did.
