As all other reports of this place have stated before me, they place ads on websites like craigslist.org looking for "new models! all ages! open call! $1500-$3000 a day". You're then told to complete some "paperwork" and before you finish, some shady looking guy with long hair, beady eyes and a baseball cap hurries you in. They even have pictures up of models they supposedly started the careers of except they were clearly just blown up pictures they don't even own the rights to. They tell you if you don't have headshots, they can create them right there for a fee, which is the oldest line in the modeling scam artist book.

You're then told to go into the "studio" where a photographer tells you to assume all these cheap sears studio poses and you get a receipt LITERALLY from a company called Photographers R Us. I came back a few weeks later and had to wait two hours in the waiting room complete with all kinds of gimmicky modeling blow-ups and tv runway shows before the beady eyed guy just handed my my cd and closed the door.

I finally decided to educate myself about modeling scams and realized that these photos were just plain unusable to bring to any agency. I also looked these people up and discovered they had scammed another lady who threatened to report them to the better business bureau. They had charged me about $100 and seeing what other people have gone through with this establishment; saw the chances of me getting that money back as slim. I am, however, willing to do anything or report these con artists to anyone necessary to prevent them from claiming anymore victims.

Hi!

I read your post and responded because it seems to be the most recent. This happened to me today and I canceled my debit card and reported it as fraud to my bank. I also reported them to the federal trade commission and the attorney general's office...and when they call me back. I am going to tell them that I did just that. If you feel strongly about it you can call too, it takes about 5-10 mins...

Federal Trade Commission:

1-800-FTC-HELP

NY State Attorney General:

1-800-771-7755

I figure the BBB can only report on what we find, these are government agencies that can launch investigations of shady companies. Pass the word along too!

Thanks, and sorry
