Firstly, I am incredibly disappointed with MFS' customer service. After filing my claim, I never ONCE heard back from them - it was a constant ordeal of me calling them to check on the status even though I would be promised time after time that they would contact me in "3-5 business days."
Regardless of this awful customer service, me, along with hundreds of other people, had my warranty claim wrongfully denied. I have an ottoman with a small tear on top. The damage was noticed the first week of June and a claim was submitted immediately after. After waiting, and waiting for a resolution to this claim, I finally contacted MFS in which they told me they were waiting for me to send pictures - why didn't anyone bother to tell me this! Anyways, after sending in pictures, I waited, and waited. Still no response. Finally, I contacted MFS today. What did they tell me? Of course, to no one's surprise, they told me they won't cover this claim.
Let me mention, the tear in the ottoman is under all fine print in my contract and my warranty is still very much in effect. They told me they won't honor my claim for the sole reason that the furniture store it was purchased from has gone out of business. So, I essentially have a worthless warranty that I purchased? When I asked for my money back that I spent purchasing my warranty - since it is now of absolutely zero use to me, the customer service representative told me that I never purchased my warranty service... excuse me, what? I was holding the receipt in my hand.
There is no reason why a technician wouldn't be able to repair this very small damage; however, since MFS believes it is "unrepairable" and since the furniture store is out of business and they can't replace it, I believe I am entitled to either a) an almost-identical replacement, or b) a refund for my now-useless warranty claim. There's no way MFS is going to make me believe that ALL of the people who purchased this warranty service and purchased furniture from this store are simply going to accept that they no longer have any type of warranty after spending all of that money.
The way MFS conducts their business is simply unacceptable and laughable. It's nothing short of ridiculous that the BBB has given them an A+ rating and this is only for their excuses they come up with to everyone's complaints.
