I purchased a Healthmaster Blender , Model# YD-2088E, that I used intermittently since 2010.  I  noticed on the bottom of the blender grease/oil residue.  I called customer service and was told that the pitcher was defective but it was not under Warranty, just the motor was.  I could purchase a Pitcher for $49.99 and free shipping and handling or purchase a 4 year warranty for $20, the pitcher would then be free, but S/H would be $24.  Again the Customer Service person did say it is a Defective Pitcher, the bearings are bad.  I understand if I broke the pitcher, but it is a known defect.  Since it is a known defect I want it replaced.  I am appalled at the scam they have going where either way they are pocketing close to $50 on a item they know to be defective.  I would even be willing to pay the $20 for the extended warranty, if the pitcher would then be replaced at no charge and no S/H. 

 My argument is - if it is a known defect how can they deny replacement?  There should have at some point been some type of recall on the Pitchers or at least a courtesy extension on the warranty to cover any defective pitchers.  I'm not asking for much here, and these Blenders are not CHEAP.  The least they can do is stand by their product.  The fact that Montel is the spokesperson and has his name on these items is even more appalling to me.  I didn't think he would be the type of human being to knowingly sell a defective product and make a profit on replacing it.  Someone please look into this for me.  For any of you wishing to purchase this blender - Well. I noticed they have a new model.  Hmmmm Imagine that.  In the meantime the folks that spent 100' s of dollars on this model had no notice of a recall or even received a courtesy replacement.  I would like to know what Montel has to say about this.

I contacted the co, not the call service, but the actual Company.  I spoke with a person there and after explaining what happened - I was sent out a Brand New Blender.  The new version, not the crappy design I had originally.  This goes to show that Companies do want to help - you just have to go to the top.  Don't try to deal with the call centers - they are scripted and can only do so muh.  Let the manufacture know - I believe they want to know, and do truly want to right the wrongs.   I appreciate the brand new blender, and appreciate them acknowledging me and my ongoing frustration with their original blender.
