Morris and Sons Towing Company is an unscrupulous and predatory towing business.   There is no doubt that they are in bed with a certain well known property management  company  in this area,  whose main purpose is  generating kickbacks and  revenue for them and for  the property managers who work in collusion with them.    Case in point:    Mobile home parks are privately owned by a large real estate development company.    Their property managers take pleasure in subjecting  their  residents  to very strict and oppressive rules regarding everything from use of their clubhouses, to who can use the  pool areas,  guest  parking, amenities and the list goes on.

They have put their heads together and have  found an extremely clever and crafty way to make lots of extra cash:   Troll around the  community to find  a vehicle that is not parked according to their “park rules” and  tow it away.  Then charge an obscene amount of money to the vehicle owner  to get their car back.   And oh yeah – they especially like to wait until the weekend, so they can charge more in “after hour fees” to an unsuspecting victim.   Nice.   They mainly target their residents – not the general public or guests – to make it so unbearable to live there, that the homeowner will decide to  sell and move away.     Why?  So they can raise the space rent every time a home is sold to a new buyer, lining their pocketbooks even more.    These folks have found a very effective  and cunning way to make lots of money, regardless of conscience  or morality.    They victimize  their residents, who are the very people who pay the space rents for the community.    Recently, one of their drivers was overheard chatting to his buddy as he attached a vehicle to his tow truck :   “We’re gonna make lots of money tonight!”.   This unprofessionalism illustrates predatory towing at it’s core.

The mobile home park owners and the people who work for them have a contract with this tow company and have skillfully created a cash cow for themselves by exploiting the  California Mobilehome Residency Laws,  as well as the California Vehicle codes which govern “private property”.   Their strategy is simple:   Create a stifling living environment for it’s residents in the hopes of catching someone “violating” their rules,  regardless of how minor or insignificant the infraction may be.    That way, they can continue to get rich by ripping off vehicle owners.
